Yes, she did say they are dated, even since the refurbishment. The style of decor, I suppose she meant. The rooms do look very dark in the brochures and even on the hotel website.

Great tip about the tours, thanks. :)

I think the rooms at Bellagio look nice since the refurb a bit blue maybe, but don't think they look dark, a bit similar to the cosmo rooms ;).

as long as you get a pool view, I don't think you would be disappointed with either

Surely you can sue them if they (or their agents) didn't provide the room you paid for.

I am not sure of the legalitys, but if it is a pricing error do they have to provide it?

It might all be irrelevant after they get back the magee on monday

They don't have to provide a pricing error, but once you've offered the money and they have accepted your offer, Im sure its yours at that price. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Offer_and_acceptance

I expected the T&Cs for Travelocity to state that there was a confirmed booking once you had received your confirmation, but can't see it unless I am missing it

    http://www.travelocity.co.uk/lmn/lmnimage/whitelabel/en_GB/travelo/site/nav/tsandcs.htm#hotels

This is what it does say which isn't too promising:-
Whilst every effort has been made to ensure accuracy and availability, some errors might still occur. Once aware of such incidents we will make all reasonable effort to advise you within 48 business hours of the booking being made. We reserve the right to cancel the reservation and refund all monies paid, but this of course will be without any liability to you.

In the unlikely event of the supplier cancelling or amending your reservation after the booking has been made, we will make all reasonable effort to advise you as soon as possible. Should the supplier be unable to fulfil your hotel reservation, you will have the choice of accepting an offered alternative or cancelling your reservation with a full refund of all monies paid. In cases where the supplier is unable to provide an alternative, we reserve the right to cancel your reservation with a full refund.

Atlas Choice tried to change my booking for THEhotel after I had booked, stating that the price shown was for Mandalay Bay, and they changed our booking to staying at MB. I quoted their own T&Cs back to them which stated I had a confirmed booking and they backed down.

This was booked in March if i had not rang the hotel i would have been none the wiser.

Interesting pricing from TR today.I found a decent price for Flamingo Go rooms with view at $58 and $72 dollars (used the All Vegas search month at a time thing) -went to book it and it repriced it at $54 for all three nights -with a note saying it was to keep them within their own price guarantee. Excellent price for a Go with view...... I wonder if $20 would get me a Go corner suite-Hmmm ;)

magee737 - I do hope it gets sorted out...I guess if it was a pricing error then it's a bit more complicated, but I feel for you if you end up stuck somewhere you wouldn't have stayed if you had realised at the time of booking.

Can anyone who has stayed at Harrah's comment on their rooms/chance of upgrade? A very good friend of mine may be coming to Vegas while we are there in October - would be super-exciting as I haven't seen him in 10 years...he's looking at Harrah's classic rooms with 2 queens as they are a decent price for his nights. He has said it's just a place to sleep, I'm just wondering if anyone has stayed at Harrah's recently and has any advice...I know that the rooms near Carnaval Court can be really loud, but other than that haven't paid that much attention and we have only every stayed at Harrah's one night on a comp years ago and got the smallest room ever (bad luck I think).
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

I haven't stayed there yet, but will be in October for 4 nights comped, in the standard room. While there in April we asked to go and see a room, they let us after a bit of discussion and we were quite shocked how small they were....but they are free :D
