theres some road behind the strip which is good for bars (up by Ballys way i think), cant remember the name of it!

I recommend going to Treasure Island, sink a few beers in there (good views at gilleys ;) ) and then go on the rodeo bull, after beers and shots.... makes for a great night! haha ! i almost puked last time! ;)

Just googled Gilley's :D Added to the list.

    Cheers Stuie.

Any street name / bars you mean behind the strip?

    Hi there

I'd like to ask some basic questions about getting cash. Going to LV and going on a GC road trip later this month :j

I have a Metrobank debit card and a Halifax Clarity card so I'll get charged no fees this side!

Where is the best place to find out about ATM locations and fees in the area?

Any tips on which banks etc offer the lowest ATM fees?

Will grocery stores / gas stations offer cashback on a UK debit card?

    Thanks all in advance!
Try Visa.com and somewhere on there is an ATM locator - it claims to know where every machine in the world is!

Just back from second trip to Vegas in as many months.I went back to get some more sun to heal this broken arm I have had for far to long.Anyway, just had a quick look on here to catch up ( didn't look at the site while on holiday) and it appears Pebblesmax and photome were both in the Orleans during our 10 night stay.May well have walked right passed each other in the hotel. If you seen a gentleman with a blue cast on his lower arm it was me.....if I had a dollar for the number of times I was asked if it was with playing the machines to much,I would be able to go back for a third trip this year.

Oh by the way,I have always enjoyed our stays at the Orleans, but have to say this 10 night stay was not the best. Was given 7th floor, never been that low before, and the view is of a brick wall, the carpet was filthy with stains, the bed sheets had holes and my stopper in the sink wouldn't close.
All that, along with the looooongest wait times we have ever had for the shuttles, and I was rather disappointed with this stay.Probably still stay there again in the future though.

Yes there is a lounge, alright but not up to T5 standards. Sandwiches available and free bar. There are showers as well. You used to have to be flying in J or F as was the case in the old lounge in T2 but it is now open to silver and gold card holders
Also if you have a Priorty Pass or Lounge Club card you can get in.
If you apply for the Amex Gold you get 2 Lounge Club passes to use.

    Brilliant, thanks.

I have no idea what the facilities are like at T3, but T2 was dire.

Do you know if you can buy status with Avios. I don't think you can

The cheapest ATM on the strip is inside Casino Royale at $1. The next is at the top of M&M World down towards the MGM at $2.

Check the maximum you can take out in a day and convert it to USD. However some ATMs have a lower limit.

Another quick update for steak lovers( stuie) went to redwood grill in the California last night, had the porterhouse special. 24 dollars for salad, then a 18oz porterhouse followed by apple dumpling. Steak was fantastic

For Stuie, we were at Cravings buffet at the Mirage last night and they had "filet mignon". However it wasn't like any filet mignon I've had at a full service restaurant, it was just a piece of steak. Mine was just OK, but hubby's was good. However the prime rib was excellent.

As for pebblesmax, on the way to Mirage, outside Caesars, someone tapped me on the back. It was pebbles and Tony! We had already arranged to meet up next week, but it was nice to catch up with them.

I always find things like this amazing - you guys could all have been anywhere and even if you were so close chances of actually realising it have to be small with so many people around...I once saw an old friend I had not seen in 10 years walk right in front of me at Bally's and called out her name and we had a bit of an OMG moment...5 seconds either way, or if I had been looking right instead of left and would never have happened.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Ferf, remember a couple of years ago when we met on the bridge walk over Hoover dam? There were thousands of people there that day .
