Anyone booked a car with Alamo recently or in the past year even ???
I prepaid with Alamo.co.uk (including fuel)
Completed the Savetime option so my driver license stuff is linked to my booking.....
Just wondering if its worth trying to use the kiosk machine, and then pick a car, or worth going to the check-in desk ?? (hopefully still pick my car!).
agree with stoneman that normally you can't use an automated kiosk if you have a voucher...not sure what the Alamo set up is like as always end up with Dollar (and always so pleased to see it)...last time we rented with someone else (Avis, maybe, and at LA) we still had to stand in the normal queue - we asked if we could use the kiosk and were told no as we had a voucher.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
We were able to use the kiosk at Alamo in March. There was someone there to help out if you got stuck. It was pretty quick.0

So does the machine assign you a car? If so I wouldn't want to use it, and if not you might as well join the "Reward" scheme and go straight to the garage anyway. What usually happens with us is we get to the garage ( because we have joined all of the reward schemes) and if the company doesn't have a kiosk there we show the guy that shows you to the cars our voucher, he sees what category we have bought, we hop in a car and do all of the paperwork at the window sitting in the car.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
That sounds good Stoneman. We'll try that next time.0

For those who stay at CET hotels:-
All CET hotels now charge $15 + tax if you check in between noon and 3pm and want into your room immediately and $25 if you check in between 9am and noon.
We checked in at 1pm and the check in clerk waived the fee.0 -
I thought that was waived for TR members.0

Crikey all this nickel and dime stuff going on now. The hotels are acting more like budget airlines than upmarket establishments. Donny and Marie cancelled this week!.
Not a good night last night as my wife had been looking forward to the show, we went to eat early, got to the showroom only to be told Marie isn't well and they have cancelled at least until may 14th, was very disappointing.
On the plus side we went and had the happy hour bar menu at Max brenners which as great.0 -

We checked in at caesers at 11am, no room available but we could have a pool view room at 1pm with no charge or wait until 4pm for the fountain view that we wanted, we waited and got an Augustus tower room right on the strip end.
Great location as only a minutes walk from strip and using the Augustus valet less then a minute to the room, not forgetting there is a desperate check in desk for Augustus and octavius towers.0
