There's a lot of very disgruntled ladies in town as this weekend the Osmond brothers are at the Orleans so a lot of fans flew in hoping to do D&M and the Brothers as well.

My head is spinning with wedding stuff .......and as for the prices to fly out for a recce next month OUCH ! I'm amazed how many people ( from reading reviews) book their weddings "blind" . I wnt to see what I'm getting in advance and am sorely tempted by the Flamingo's gardens -and keep trying to tell myself that as I'd get TR points it wouldn't be THAT expensive lol

What about the patio (depending on time of day due to heat!) of the Country Club @ Wynn?

In fact, all of Wynn's restaurants have a variation of Vegan / Vegetarian menus'.

Full list here (may be slightly out of date?):

    :)

I had totally forgotten that Wynn had Vegan menus. Their buffet is also particularly veggie friendly with good labelling for Vegans.

That said, they don't get the parmesan thing. They have parmesan on their vegetarian menu, and parmesan is very definitely not vegetarian.

I love the menus though, thanks for posting. Quite pricey but would be lovely for a special meal!!

It's not just America that has issues with that though. I've lost count of the number of so called veggie dishes on menus in the UK that have parmesan in them. Even worse are the veggie menus with fish on them

I think the Flamingo gardens would be a lovely setting for a wedding...and the TR points thing did make me giggle - that's not a bad way to justify it!
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Oh, I know, happens all the time here. I actually googled it and found a story about how in 2015 in the uk there will be laws about veggie labelling in restaurants etc. That will soon put a stop to it hopefully once and for all. So sick of everything having either 'pesto' or 'parmesan' and then having to explain that it's not veggie despite it being a cheese. Some places actually don't have true veggie options at all, can be quite a problem. I hate all the fuss, particularly if out in company it feels like I'm just being fussy.

Now moved to the MGM Grand and it's mental here. The Rolling Stones are playing the Garden Arena tomorrow night and you can't get a room for love nor money. Check in was crazy busy even at 11am.

I did 2 bookings hoping for 2 lots of dining credit rather than one for the room and succeeded. Also got additional dining credit as they messed up our booking so that will cover a few meals.

We are also going to see the brothers, hubby's idea, not mine. His thinking was that Donny might appear with them seeing as D&M are dark on Sunday.

What do you think the chances are?

Probably not good if I'm honest Luci as Donny usually heads back to his home in Utah when he's not performing (unlike Marie who moved her family to Vegas Donny's stayed in Utah) and it was his 35th wedding anniversary this week too. That said....Never say never - he might have other commitments and be back in Vegas for those as he flits back and forth with his own plane.

The Brothers put on a GREAT show however and the Orleans showroom is really nice. If you're in the Orleans apart from the show you'll bump into them-They are always wandering around and are very nice and very approachable.

Back to weddings -I see the Flamingo now have a second waterfall location which is more secluded and private but so new there's nothing on YouTube -I suspect it'll be between the Chapel of the Flowers and the Flamingo in the end -but looking forward to "making sure" ;)

Few years back my son and another friend wanted to go and see Coldplay at the Garden Arena - we checked a few days before and it was a sellout but I went to the box office about an hour before the show and got them great second block seats so if you want to see the Stones it'd be worth a try on the day. I guess so much of Vegas is corporate/comps that returns are fairly commonplace on the day.

hey everyone, bit of a tangent question!

does anyone have any links to hi-res/hi-quality (royalty free, maybe) images of Vegas? (best I've found so far are here)

I'm looking at getting a big panoramic print made for my study - so would ideally have a night-time scene involving bellagio fountains, paris caesars, etc. looking north from Cosmo, etc.

Or depending on how big an image I can find, maybe doing a bit of a collage.

I've never really taken many high quality photos while I've been over there (despite being a photographer, have always put my holiday first!)
