  • Just a note about Virgin's seat booking - they seem to open up the seats slightly earlier than exactly 90 days ahead. Our outward bound flight is 12:35pm but DH managed to book the seats just before 10am, 90 days before and I was able to book our inward bound seats 17 hours before we hit exactly 90 days - got upstairs on both legs :)

Tha Bacchanal was one of the things I was most looking forward to for our next trip - I'm afraid that they can shove it now! For those prices I'd rather bite the bullet and finally go and experience the Sterling Brunch at Ballys!

comparatively speaking, the B.Buffet is expensive compared to a lot of regular Vegas buffets, however it is fantastic with very good quality food, a number of personally cooked dishes, souffles, etc.

but if you look at it in isolation, it's still a very good deal I think - £35/head, so not really different to a 3-course meal in a decent restaurant :)

yes it is. It's the 7 seater one . We have got 3 drivers so will be able to split the driving.
it was more the available space I was thinking may be an issue for you :) - depends how much luggage you'll be taking though I guess.

Not the same, but when there was 5 of us in a 7 seater, it was touch and go getting 5 full size suitcases in there... we just managed, though this wasn't a full size SUV (it was one of those Dodge Grand Caravan's, so different kettle of fish!)

I don't remember it being too bad. From memory, the final haul from Yosemite to Vegas will be more taxing :)

Re: your final 3 nights... No Venetian or Palazzo?? (not recommending them... In fact, the opposite, I've never stayed there. Just wondered why they weren't up for consideration :) )

As you're already 4 nights at Cosmo, I'd personally avoid bellagio and Vdara :) just because we will have covered a bit of ground round there already :)

Thanks NVH, we chose to omit the Venetian/Palazzo properties as although we have spent some time there in the past, we really don't like their decor/ambience too much (also the synthetic smell they pump out really effects my OH's nose!). Mother in law has just returned from a week their and thoroughly enjoyed it, but then they spent a lot of time on property which we wouldn't really be doing unless we really liked all the restaurants/shops/pools there (we don't really gamble so not a consideration for us).

In honesty, I'm tempted back to the Encore but it seems to have really gone up price wise since we were last there and also part of me thinks try somewhere new. I'm drawn towards Caesars, just because...maybe the Nobu tower?

We had a Dodge Grand Caravan when we went to Florida 3 years ago, (same 2 families) and that was fine. Luggage wise we will be travelling light-ish. We have planned our trip so we will have laundry facilities along the way (2 holiday homes).

Sorry - I misread the post and took it as $94.99 just for tha Bacchanal but on re-reading I see that's the price for the B.O.B with a Bacc weekend dinner added on.....ok, maybe it's back on the list!

Firefly tapas - very busy (and dark!) but the food was very nice. My only gripe was that they put cheese on everything! A seemingly common trait in the US . The one we went to is on Sahara but a long way away from the Strip.

I agree that they are very dark! We went to the one on Paradise, and don't remember the cheese being an issue at all. I suppose it depends on what you ordered.

I guess it does. Maybe a touch of exaggeration in my description there :) but after ordering the Serrano Ham and Manchego Cheese platter (which was lovely), I didn't expect the Chicken and Chorizo Stuffed Mushrooms to come out smothered completely in cheese (which had gone cold and congealed - despite this, the mushrooms were still bloomin' hot!). I couldn't detect the chorizo or chicken! And after sharing some Albondigas (meatballs), I was disappointed to find that it had cheese in it as well - never had that ever, even in Spain. Overall the food was very nice but I shall choose some different things next time (or ask for food sin queso!).

Hmmm. Glad I didn't order the chicken and chorizo stuffed mushrooms, that was one thing I was considering. Cheese would have really put me off it. We did have the Albondigas and from what I remember, they just had a sprinkling of parmesan or other hard cheese.

has anyone been in early October? just priced up a direct flight trip with 7 nights at Vdara for £809pp (after 8% quidco cashback with ebookers)... sooo tempted, best price i've seen for a while...

shame the flights aren't a bit cheaper on their own, as booking the hotel through mlife is coming in at about £80/night
