Vern58 - thanks so much for your trip report! Really enjoyed reading it...makes me want to go back again right now.Weera Thai - thanks for the recommendation Ferf and others! We ate here for dinner. Lovely food and generous portions. Beware that medium spicy in the chicken in the Pepper Garlic Sauce is actually pretty damn spicy!! Very tasty though. My friend said the Teriyaki Chicken was the best he'd ever eaten.
Must give credit to pebbles as we went with her and her OH on their suggestion...really enjoyed it, but didn't make it back this last trip...definately plan to in October!Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
We are booked in for July for Cosmo (4 nights), M Resort (3 nights), Four Seasons (4 nights) and currently Staybridge Suites (3 nights on a freebie). We are actually now thinking that it may be better to keep our IHG points for use in London as we have Springsteen tickets for the end of June and hotels are horrendously expensive.
With this in mind, what would be your preference on the following properties for our last 3 nights (we have a car):
Caesars (if so, what tower/room???)
Vdara
The Platinum
Trump
Palms Place
Bellagio (have all rooms been updated??)
We've done Wynn, Encore, Mandarin before so not many more we really fancy for this trip - your thoughts are much appreciated as ever x:staradmin There is no normal, only typical :staradmin0 -
We are two families, 4 adults and 2 children (13 & 12) who are off to Vegas and California in August. I am after any hints or tips on what you would all recommend we do, eat, see etc.
the Pick up hire car Full size SUV booked with Alamo0 -
All I would say is that the drive out from SF to Yosemite is quite taxing but as you will have been driving around for a few days ahead of arriving there you should be fine.
Re: your final 3 nights... No Venetian or Palazzo?? (not recommending them... In fact, the opposite, I've never stayed there. Just wondered why they weren't up for consideration)
As you're already 4 nights at Cosmo, I'd personally avoid bellagio and Vdarajust because we will have covered a bit of ground round there already

Yes all rooms at the Bellagio should have been updated by now as they were just finishing them when we got a tour last year, and very nice they are too.0

CET Buffet of Buffets price has increased again.
It is now $49.99 or $54.99 without a Total Rewards card.
It was $29.99 with a players card when it started in 2010.
However...............
those prices are only during the week. There is a weekend surcharge and it's now $64.99 with a Total Rewards card or $69.99 without.
The supplement for using the pass at Caesars' Bacchanal Buffet has also been increased. It used to be a flat fee of $15, but now it's an additional $15 for breakfast, $20 for lunch, and $25 for dinner.
If you wish to eat the Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars for dinner on the weekend as part of the BOB, without a Total Rewards card, it now costs $94.99.
And those prices don't include tax..................
Who in their right mind would pay over $100 inc tax for a BUFFET?0 -

Regulars may know that we eat mostly buffets (or at least we used to) and there isnt many buffets I havent tried.
BUT as you point out that is a crazy price and I for one wont be eating there
I also wont ever use the BOB as we could never eat more than 2 buffets in a day so the maths just dont work0 -

Louiseis it just the one SUV for the 6 of you (plus luggage)? Sorry, wasn't sure if that's what you meant
A full size should be ok (if thats what you meant) as they are 7 seaters, might have to pack light though. From memory if the rear most seats are used it does limit luggage space
The only other option would be a minivan, if of course they are only using one vehicle0 -

Tha Bacchanal was one of the things I was most looking forward to for our next trip - I'm afraid that they can shove it now! For those prices I'd rather bite the bullet and finally go and experience the Sterling Brunch at Ballys!"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"
