Hi everyone, me, my gf, her sis and her bf are planning to head to Vegas next summer (2014). We're edging towards booking with Virgin Holidays, as they cover resort fees and have a low upfront payment (but we will certainly make sure we're getting the best deal when that booking time comes).

My question is, from your experience how early do holidays tend to be available to book. All the holiday providers only offer upto April 2014 so far, for some reason I thought you could book upto 18months in advance?

Anyway, thanks in advance for your advice :-D
Currently saving and planning for the holiday of a lifetime to Vegas in summer 2014!

5 Nights @ Flamingo -> 1 Night @ Lake Mead -> 2 Nights @ The Grand Canyon -> 3 Nights @ The Mirage -> And Finally... 1 Night @ The Salone Fountain View Suite, Bellagio

I normally have a car every trip picking up from the airport, but this year picking up on my second afernoon (48 hours from landing) has saved me £100, but left me needing that cab, as its to the Orleans the tunnel may be quicker but will still request surface streets.

Dont fancy the shuttle or buses and def not walking:eek: why would you:(
My very first trip this year - we are starting off downtown at the Golden Nugget for 2 days then hiring a car to go to the Grand Canyon (staying over) - where are you picking up your car? Did not really want to get a cab back to the sirport to get one.
    Thank you all who post.

Looking at booking our car for May. We are going down the TI route again, picking the car up on the next day, and returning it the day we leave.

Seems as though Netflights are not offering from TI this time and carhire3000 do not offer free cancellation (or I can't find it on their website).

Looked at several options including booking through a U.S. company as then we could pay for the hire with my Bank of America account money, but the extras added are so confusing and as far as I can see what I would pay £120 through a U.K. broker would cost me nearly £200 going direct with Dollar.

So from my searching looks like Auto Europe are working out the best, same price as CH3000, just over 7% cashback with TCB and free cancellation.

Any other ideas are welcome. Tried Hertz from Paris but they are £30 more
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

There are a couple of locations DT that you can pick up your car from. Try Carhire3000, Auto Europe, and Dollar.co.uk
It is usually a little ($10 per week) more picking up from a hotel than the airport (even though you dont have to pay the airport collection fee)

Well the airlines only allow seats to be booked 330 days in advance so that would be the earliest you could book a complete holiday I would imagine. I would be really wary of booking a package with Virgin, they are known for really hiking up the price.

Just had a look at carhire 3000, their website has changed and like you I cant find anywhere that says free cancellation. It used to be free if payed upfront, maybe they have cahnged it or just neglected to put it on their new website.

Have searched through their t and c, cant find any mention of free cancellation only free amendments and a proce promise if paid upfont

I dont think they have neglected to put it in, they have carefully worded it to say it's easy to cancel or amend, but you have to do it online AFTER you have booked. So that to me says there will be a charge or it would be a headline. Crafty !!!!!!s, why do companies try this sort of thing on.

well that sucks...agree that CH3000 has changed their T&Cs...bummer...stoneman, check dollar.com for the TI location hours - they are weird...but we like collecting the car from there as saves the hassle of picking up upon arrival just to park it for the night.

    New T&Cs.

If You, the Renter, Wish to Make Changes to Your Booking
No charge will be made for amending your reservation before the start of your rental. This excludes any charges which may be due from a material change to the reservation such as the duration or car type. Amending the drivers name or the pick-up location may require the cancellation and re-booking of a reservation. To cancel your booking, please call a member of our team on 0800 358 7707 and have your name and reference number ready and we will then communicate with car hire company. Terms and conditions vary per supplier and will be clearly communicated during the booking process

    This whole bit is gone

CANCELLING RESERVATIONS FULLY PAID FOR AT THE TIME OF BOOKING: Can be cancelled online free of charge up to 48 hours before the start of the rental. Reservations cancelled within 48 hours of the start of the rental will be charged a fee equal to a 3 day rental. There will be no refund or additional charge for reservations less than 3 days in duration. Where the vehicle cannot be picked up due to insufficient documentation or failure to provide a valid credit card this will be treated as a cancellation made within 48 hours provided we are advised at the pick-up time.
DEPOSIT RESERVATIONS: Cancellations made more than 48 hours before the start of the rental will be charged a fee equal to the deposit amount. Reservations cancelled within 48 hours of the start of the rental will be charged a fee equal to a 3 day rental or the deposit amount whichever is the greater. There will be no refund or additional charge for reservations less than 3 days in duration. Where the vehicle cannot be picked up due to insufficient documentation or failure to provide a valid credit card and we are advised of this at the time of pick-up - this will be treated as a cancellation made within 48 hours. Where full payment has not been processed at least 48 hours before the vehicle pick-up time this will be treated as a cancellation with the terms and conditions previously detailed
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
