I normally have a car every trip picking up from the airport, but this year picking up on my second afernoon (48 hours from landing) has saved me £100, but left me needing that cab, as its to the Orleans the tunnel may be quicker but will still request surface streets.

Dont fancy the shuttle or buses and def not walking:eek: why would you:(

I've never tunnelled to the Orleans in what must be at least seven or eight trips there. Most drivers don't even try it on to there as it's a bigger fare than the Strip anyway.

    hi there,

I am currently researching a trip to vegas for our honeymoon, I am looking into going mid September for 7 nights. I am thinking of spitting this between 2 hotels to experiance more of vegas and I have heard it will be easier to get an upgrade using the $20 trick if your only staying for a few nights rather than a full week.
We are not planning on hiring a car so I was wondering what we would do with our luggage since you have to check out of one hotel at 10am but cant check into the next hotel untill 3pm.

I also want to see Penn and Teller, am I better of buying tickets before we travel or while we are there?

We went to florida in 2011 and I found it quite over whelming so I want to be extra prepared this time :-)

    Thanks

Every time we go P&T has been available at Tix4Tonite at half-price. Even if you buy the cheapest seats you may well be upgraded as they move people closer to make it look more full.
Especially if you are there a few nights your chances of buying reduced price tickets whilst there are normally very high.
Normally I like to buy all my tickets before I go as I am not brave or lucky, but for P&T even I would take the chance.
    Others may disagree.

The last time I was there was early/mid Sept and the weather was great. Also split my week between 2 hotels, 5 nights excalibur and 2 nights MGM Grand. We checked out of Excalibur and walked straight over to the MGM and were checked in there and then, mustve been around 1130am although cant remember, we certainly didnt have a late check out or early check in etc.

My assumption would be that because the hotels have so many rooms (unless you are maybe in some fancy suite where there arent too many of that type) then check in shouldnt be an issue, although thats only from 1 prior experience.

Personally I never had the "balls" to try the $20 trick as I had an awesome deal anyway I thought it would be pretty cheeky but hey you dont ask you dont get!

Seriously considering Vdara for next year.

Any recommendations? How long does it take to walk to Bellagio?

Vdara is connected to Bellagio by an internal corridor.
From the lobby of Vdara to the first access to Bellagio probably takes around 5 minutes.
You could also take the free tram.

You can regularly find P&T for 40% off via places like smartervegas and travelzoo - booking direct with the box office and having your tickets sorted before you go...personally we would do that rather than Tix4Tonight but I can see why some would wait.

You can always try to check in straight after you check out of your first hotel...sometimes you can get straight in - if your moving day is a weeknight even better chance of it...if not you can leave your bags with the bell desk of the new hotel and then have the bags sent up when you get to the room.

We don't do the $20 trick as such - but we do ask if there are any complimentary upgrades available and if we get one, we tip then...I find the 'sandwich' awkward - but I know many are quite happy to do it and regularly get good upgrades...we have had good luck with our method too. :)

I made it until about 10 am and then started seriously considering my options. :)

    Thanks

The way I handle it is as I'm always awake early in Vegas (dang jetlag) I leave everyone else sleeping and go to the hotel and register . I don't expect the room to be ready -if it is it's a bonus - but the paperwork is done and often you're told not to join the big line when you come back but to go elsewhere.

Whether we leave to bags with the bell at the old hotel or the new depends on what our plans are for the day .

It's surprising how often rooms ARE available early and doesn't appear to affect complimentary upgrades either :)

    restaurant.com code good to 28/03 - BUNNY...50% off ($25 certificates for $5 - so 50% off code as normally $25 certificates are $10).
