Well the airlines only allow seats to be booked 330 days in advance so that would be the earliest you could book a complete holiday I would imagine. I would be really wary of booking a package with Virgin, they are known for really hiking up the price.
Cheers for the heads-up. Who would you recommend to book with where you can pay a deposit rather than the full-price upfront?Currently saving and planning for the holiday of a lifetime to Vegas in summer 2014!

I agree with stoneman - anytime we have compared our DIY holiday with Virgin Holidays it's been vastly more expensive with VH...but if paying a deposit is the way you want to go it may not be that much different than other 3rd parties...I'm not sure as we never use them.
If you could manage to save up and pay for the flights directly - most hotels will take only one night deposit if booking direct - the rest you pay on departure...but I know flights are probably the most expensive part of it...if you could start saving up now maybe you could manage to clear airfare early?
Maybe try some dummy bookings now for say a week next March...check what price VH is quoting you, then check the price for the Virgin flight and the hotel (using the links and info on the first page)...at least to get an idea of how their prices compare to get an idea if you want to go that route.
We used to check regularly for the heck of it and it always seemed for our dates that the price on VH was basically = our DIY flight + hotel price + the hotel price again...whether they think people don't notice that Vegas hotel prices are based on double occupancy when doing comparisons, I'm not sure.
Of course it could have changed, so worth checking yourself to get a feel for how they compare.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Just looked at CH3000 again and they do offer free cancelation. It is shown when you pick which car you want in the list of what is included in the rental to the side of the carThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

I tried the same thing yesterday, that cancellation option wasnt there yesterday, not on Rentalcars anyway.
I have just looked on both Carhire3000 and rentalcars and it is there today. The Rentalcars site also has the old layout today, whereas yesterday it was a layout I hadnt seen before
Even though the option is displayed under car type the t and c are still as Ferf says, they dont mention free cancellation like they used to.
Still makes me wonder if they are changing their website and there are errors0 -
For maybe they are revising the site and leaving it open for charges in the future with more general wording ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Also last night I had written a scathing post about them not offering nil excess if you have a prang because that was missing as well, in fact it is still gone from the T&C, but just before I posted I went back to the site just to check and it had reappeared next to the cancelation bit.The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. There are a couple of locations DT that you can pick up your car from. Try Carhire3000, Auto Europe, and Dollar.co.uk
It is usually a little ($10 per week) more picking up from a hotel than the airport (even though you dont have to pay the airport collection fee)Thank you all who post.0 -

usrentacar.co.uk do a deposit scheme....
So do CH3000 or at least they used to, but if you pay deposit only there are amendment fees and they wont match prices after booking which they have always done if you pay in full.
Not sure what USrentacar terms are, if only paying a deposit0
