wish you would'nt have mentioned that Six Parks place!!
We love theme parks, so if Magic Mountain is the closet to Vegas, am already looking at how long it would take to get there!!

I see stoneman has answered and he has done it in a day.

would i do it on a day trip? Not a chance.

Minimum of 12 hours driving plus the time spent at the theme park.

We have stayed in a best western at pasadena (twice) which is situated NE LA, not far from the park and right next to Santa Anita racecourse

Sorry Stuie! (Although if you can get there, it's definitely worth it :D)

I seem to remember it taking about 5 hours, with a stop for fuel.

We flew to LAX and stayed at the Santa Clarita Motel on the way to Vegas and then at the Best Western right next to Six Flags on the way back. Both were fine :) Although we did get an odd look from the server in the Denny's when we asked the quickest way to walk to the park :P Forgot no one walks over there :rotfl:

Santa Clarita/Valencia is quite nice which is a bonus, there's a big Westfield mall and some nice restaurants attached to it if you do decide to stay.

We're in Vegas in 3 weeks time for part of our honeymoon (1st time so very excited!) It's also my other half's birthday whilst we're there & I'd like to arrange something as a surprise. I was just going to go with a restaurant but thought some of you guys may have other suggestions? It will be for a weekend evening, already doing a show & Grand Canyon. Don't want to completely blow the budget but somewhere in the region of £100-£150. Thanks!

Rides at the Strat would be my choice as well:D
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

There is an offer on travelzoo for a hot air balloon ride with bubbly (if you are not put off by recent events). Maybe a night helicopter ride over the strip, but if you are going to West rim GC by helicopter may not be a good choice. Couples massage....;)

Edit.. forget first suggestion, you need it for an evening so a sunrise balloon ride clearly doesn't suit!

Woo hooo! Finally got tickets for KA! from teh myvegas game - I can't believe they would have cost us $400 and they are free (ok, not really free if you count up the hours I have spent on the game but hey...)

Re: redeeming them - I am using a cheap call provider (planet talk) and then putting in the number given for overseas players (702-531-2197) and I keep getting the message "this number has not been recognised" Has anyone tried any other ways/numbers?

Edit: D'oh... would have helped if I'd put the 001 in front of it.....
All sorted now - fantastic seats for 11th April x

we never had a strong attachment to Bill's but did enjoy visiting a few times during each trip - so it was fairly sad to see it gutted.

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
