Warning, just a heads up
there is a current buffet deal at Palms on travelzoo
$29 -- Palms: Buffet Dinner for 2 w/Beer & Wine, Reg. $52
I thought that looked good but on doing a bit of searching have found the members price for dinner sun thru thur is only $14 plus tax so just over $30 and still includes the beer and wine.
things are not always as good as they seem
it is a better saving on a fri and sat where the member price is $190 -
Google have brought out a new flight search matric. ClickyThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0

Froggit - thanks for info about the cabin baggage allowance going up - very conveniently from tomorrow which is when we fly!0

Glad to hear about the increase in hand luggage allowance. We will need it on the way home.0

Re Palms buffet.
Thursdays is senior day and is half price, making it very popular. We went this Thursday, and the wait was 45 minutes, but the food was lovely. They have some very nice selections for main courses, although the desserts are less good. Apart from the Creme brulee and the bread and butter pudding. Yummy!0 -

Never even set foot in The Palms before, never felt the need to.
But may give this buffet a try on my unexpected extra trip next month. At $14 including beer it must be worth a visit.
I have actually stated before on here how much I have disliked buffets in the past, but when we went to Vegas earlier this month,we bought the champagne brunch deal at Cravings in the Mirage from Travelzoo, and I have to admit I really enjoyed it....Having said that,it may have been something to do with 8 or 9 glasses of champagne I had with brunch.Anyway,a few beers and no doubt I won't care to much about the standard of the food.
I assume the members price just means signing up to their players card somewhere in the palms hotel.0 -

Re: redeeming them - I am using a cheap call provider (planet talk) and then putting in the number given for overseas players (702-531-2197) and I keep getting the message "this number has not been recognised" Has anyone tried any other ways/numbers?
Edit: D'oh... would have helped if I'd put the 001 in front of it.....
All sorted now - fantastic seats for 11th April x
Would someone be kind enough to explain 'the myvegas game' and how it works, or direct me to where I can find out about this. DS and 5 friends are going in 4 weeks time, staying at the MGM. (It is 6am, can't sleep, but not at my best for thinking or browsing).
Thanks for any help.0
