    Hi,

Hope you're all doing well, me and my partner are going away in June for his birthday for 2 weeks staying at Vdra, beyond being unbelievably excited.
I wanted to ask some questions about money, we are taking around £2200 for the 2 weeks, and wondered how you all manage your money?

We were thinking taking cash but then there's a risk of losing, robbed idk what else, but i am thinking worst case!

I am trying to convince my OH for us to get a Halifax clarity card(no fees for withdrawal abroad or cash), take cash out Faster Pay via internet banking same day money back, and do say x2 withdrawals.

All suggestions welcome on how to manage money :)

    Thanks

    MK

We have a metro bank account, fee free abroad. You can open an account and get the bank card on the same day.
Normally bring $1000 in cash and withdraw more as and when. Utilising an in room safe.
Also put some purchases on a credit card but obviously this is not at the best rate. :o

Woohoo!!Finally got our seats booked on VA flight from Manchester,90 days today!!Managed to get seats on the upper deck ( or the bubble)Dunno if they are better than general cattle class,I generally try for the back 2 seats but you end up last of the plane to get off therefore last in line at customs. They were the last seats left up there so I figured they were ok.Still gotbthe trauma of booking return seats next week as they wouldn't let me do that today.

for My Vegas rewards where you don't have to book in advance (as you do for shows) in our experience with 2 last week we went to the players club booth (MLife) and picked up our comp slips there...have to have ID, players club card and confirmation from My Vegas...which is what the confirmation says to do and worked just fine for us...we had the Bellagio lunch buffet and the CC Steakhouse to claim when we were there.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

for anyone who flies Virgin from Gatwick who used to check in at LAS at 11am on the day of departure then head back to the Strip for a bit, they have changed that to noon now...and if you happen to be really unlucky like we were when the US clocks had gone forward but the UK clocks had not so the flight was scheduled to depart an hour later...1:30pm...put a dent in our normal departure day plans - especially as I got an SUV instead of the intermediate that would have preferred - so cases couldn't easily be left in the vehicle as there is nowhere to hide them. All worked out OK, just a bit unexpected and if they have changed to noon now, we will make sure not to arrive at 11!

    Car Insurance Carver!
We are also going in June, and prebooked the bubble upstairs :).. Re: the question about managing money, we will take around 400 $ in cash, the rest on my Fairfx card, I also get paid halfway through the holiday so will just either draw out on debit card or transfer to FX card, whichever is cheapest. I am not too good saving :) so I find that buying dollars as I go works for me.
