Are you flying VA Pebbles? My Mother-in-law got a cracking deal on an upgrade last week to PE (£150 each on outward journey) and happily received copious amounts (entire bottles) of Laurent Perrier (sp?) as the cabin crew had opened it and nobody else was drinking it - much to her joy!!! Worth a try if nothing else.
Have a great time, it's 109 days for us :T:staradmin There is no normal, only typical :staradmin0 -
Snakes and reptiles don't bother me in the slightest and I handled a few in Kenya.
However I knew you had a genuine concern which is why I started my post with "Unfortunately".
TBH, I think we saw reptiles more often and possibly only saw the snake once.
I do understand your concern, but I really would try not to worry about it too much as we certainly didn't see them every day.0 -
Thanks to everyone who's replied re: snakes on the Strip. Glad that you've taken it seriously as the poor women who posted on TA has absolutely been ripped for it, saddens me as I genuinely share her concern, as clearly others on here do and I think it's a valid question.
Good to know where I stand so I can be prepared - the lizards/iguana/other animals dont bother my in the slightest, it's just anything that wriggles (eels included, worms too!!!) We're staying at Cosmo for first 4 nights and know our way round pretty well so well just avoid some of the key areas - hubby is a well trained spotter these days as he knows the panic that ensues!!

When they booked it approx. 2 months before they flew out (Manc-LV return on 7th March) they were offered the upgrade over the phone directly with VA - guess it was just a slow selling flight maybe????
The price for the return upgrade was much higher so they didn't bother.:staradmin There is no normal, only typical :staradmin0 -
Having my last night in Vegas tonight, sat opposite Bellagio having dinner or just finished anyway. Not a sign of any reptile in the last 4 days.
Plenty of screeching college kids about on spring break and lads of lass groups arriving for March madness basketball tournament."Man invented language to satisfy his deep need to complain."

The upgrade was £260 each when we checked in. It's a completely (cattle class) full flight, or so they say. First time with Virgin, they let me off with .5 kg over on the hand luggage.0

Have a brilliant time and good result with the hand luggage:A Your Always in my heart, you never ever will be forgotten-9/9/14:heart2:0 -
pebbles - have a safe flight and wonderful trip...sorry we won't see you this time around.
we have not seen any snakes this trip - have a vague memory of one a few years ago but that is it.
I did see the cat with the sunglasses on the bridge between PH & Cosmo again though and it made me sad and mad at myself for thinking how cute it was the first time I saw it...that cat must be drugged, I think...so sad.
Canter's Deli at TI is GONE...tragic...some other thing is there now...some Chicago style deli place.
Palazzo drinks service via the machines is FAST...5 mins or less the 2 times we each tried it and the casino was pretty busy....but the touch screens could use some work...hard to get the menu to move past the first page on the various screens (cocktails, beers, etc). Asked a waitress if they liked the new system (she was taking orders the old fashioned way as well). she said it gets really confusing when people move and she thinks in a lot of cases the waitresses can get the drinks out just as fast as the machine can...I'm not a big drinker and I hate waiting for a 'free' drink as I usually end up losing more than the drink would have cost me during the wait...but I can get behind this system.
we found a great place for photos of the Strip...someone (nvh or Froggit, possibly) may have mentioned it before, not sure...but the top of the parking garage for the Showcase cinema...come out the back door of MGM (West Tower, maybe? exit to the right of Rainforest Cafe)...turn right...up the road...building in front is parking garage - there's a 2 window box office there...take lift up to 11...walk up to the top.
You can see the Mansion at MGM, even, if you go to the far west side of the garage.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
My FairFX is showing $1.50 to the pound, up 2 cents from yesterday.
