Bargain flights ours cost s lot more in miles but same in cash when we go in July0 -
Ballys is there much difference between north and south towers
we think so but others may not.
North tower more recently refurbished but has been a fair few years now so are starting to show some wear.
Some south tower rooms may have been refurbished but I gather most haven't.
We have only stayed in the ST once and that was in 2003, 2004 or so? Photos on TA etc. seem to indicate that most are about the same as they were.
We've stayed in the NT many times, but have never paid extra to do so - we have always been lucky enough to be upgraded (hubby is platinum on TR which may make a difference).
ST has potential for better views and is closer to the Strip exit and valet.
NT is closer to the pool (lifts go down to pool level) and slightly closer to the walkway between Bally's and Paris and so the self parking garage.
Each time we go we say that if we get a non-refurbished ST room we will be OK with it, but each time we're pleased to be upgraded to the NT...but we wouldn't pay extra to book a NT room.
Videos
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pyd69qOX6z4 - South Tower (from last summer so not terribly out of date)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0IPHzKzWjUQ - North Tower (our video, pretty much the same as our room in October and every other NT room we have had for years - except the refrigerator - we don't know why there was a refrigerator in the room when we arrived but we were happy about it...next trip we left $10 for housekeeping with a note and asked for one and got it...following trip we tried the same thing (twice) and never got a refrigerator, second time got a note to call the front desk to arrange)Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Right then peeps, think i am about to book my trip today !!
Little daft in the way its gotta be done, but budget is £700 each, so have to juggle!
Plan is: Fly from Bristol to Amsterdam
Then from Amsterdam to Vegas (via Philly with US Airways)
10 nights in the Excalibur (22nd may - 1st)
Back to Amsterdam with 7hrs to kill there... then back to bristol
cost: £701 (compared to £848 if flying from London with 1 stop)
Anyone been to Amsterdam ?!
ahhhhh... Done some reading, would appear flying with US Airways would be like with Ryanair... no IFE, or if there is, a shared drop down screen!
shame the Delta flight is more expensive!
We always used to fly indirect via Amsterdam, usually we'd book with Continental or Delta but the transatlantic leg was always operated by KLM who, in my opinion, are fabulous - it's 5 years since we've flown with them but way back then they had the kind of IFE that the likes of Virgin are only just starting to install!
Amsterdam Schiphol is a brilliant airport - we've just got back from our second New Year spent in Amsterdam so I'm up-to-date on thisThere are loads of shops, a good few restaurants and bars and lots of soft comfy seating - it really puts other airports to shame. There's free wifi as well. I know this sounds daft but the toilets are incredible too - like something out of The Jetsons - my brother was ridiculously impressed with the bidet with built in dryer :rotfl: There's a little casino and a smokng room. You can also book into the Marriot for a nap (can't remember the day rate) or for a shower (15 Euro).
If you're going to be there for ages, trains run regularly to Amsterdam Centraal for 3.60 Euro (one way - you can get a day return that I assume will be cheaper). It takes around 20 minutes each way. Lots of things to do around Centraal if you've got a few hours to kill"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"
