I've stayed in palazzo and we loved it i like the idea of the trump as its no casino, and cheaper but misses not keen being off strip, aria it may be
if Trump appeals for that reason, have you thought about Vdara, opposite Aria? It's an all suite hotel, with no casino, and is no-smoking... the corner suites are pretty spectacular0 -

I have also got a great price on the Venetian for Sept via Netflights, 6 nights Bella Suite with 2 Queens inclusive of all taxes and resort fees £624.00. Never stayed at the Venetian but am so looking forward to it.
Travelbag are a reputable company so you should be OK0 -

Vdara nice? Does it have the luxury feel to it?0 -
Noticed carhire3000 (carrentals) have dropped TI from being a pick-up / drop-off location... frustrating for us (as we dont require a car for full duration and dont want to faff with an airport drop-off mid-trip)... still available on Dollar.com so will have to see if CarRentals can still do it "behind the scenes"!
Expedia seem to still show the TI location at least for March...which would be OK, but I cannot seem to get Expedia to give me the option to drop off at the airport which is what we would want to do.
I'm not happy about not being able to use CH3000...I haven't done anything else for so long after the folks here first recommended them...anytime I checked rates elsewhere CH3000 were always cheaper for us.
WAIT - TI is back on CH3000 - at least for our dates...I swear it was not there last night, it is now...Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
Has anyone driven out to the Grand Canyon from Vegas? I was looking at doing this sometime, perhaps flying to Phoenix and driving over via Sedona.
We have our flights booked for this September, and have looked at the option of driving to Sedona from Vegas, staying over and then back to Vegas. Looks like a long drive, and I'm also not sure if it's the best place to see the Canyon from Vegas. We've been to the Canyon on a small plane before, so we're specifically looking at seeing it from the ground. Any advice?0 -
We drove to the gran canyon from Vegas in 2008, via the Hoover dam. Can't remember how long it took exactly but we arrived just in time to see the sun setting on the canyon, I recommend you do this as it looks amazing. We stayed on the rim and then spent the next day exploring one side of the canyon before driving to lake havasu0

Sedona is still quite a drive from the GC National Park...about 2 hours or so I think...so not sure that would make much sense (unless you want to go to Sedona specifically as well)...if you drive to Sedona from Vegas I think it's about the same distance as driving from Vegas to the GC itself...more or less...I think the straight drive time is about 4.5 hours...it's very easy, and kind of boring...took us a lot longer as we stopped for breakfast and a couple of rest stops/petrol stops...but it is a very, very straightfoward drive with minimal traffic under normal circumstances.
Personally, I would stay at the south rim overnight...if you're going to do the drive and stay overnight anyway, may as well stay at the rim. It's not cheap, but we thought it was worth it for one night...to walk out of our room and the GC is RIGHT THERE...and the stars at night were amazing...and the elk wandering around right outside the buildings.

absolutely - it's an all-suite hotel, most like what we would know as a boutique hotel (despite having 1500 suites!) - but relatively speaking to Vegas it is boutiqueThe entry-level suites are lovely, but if you can, go for a corner suite - separate bedroom, lounge, kitchen/dining area, large double bathroom, separate WC. Loads of space and no noise, great views either over south Strip/mountains or Bellagio fountains.
it's directly connected to Bellagio, 60second walk from Aria and 2mins to the Cosmopolitan - location is great.0 -
We have driven to GC and Sedona from Vegas.
My advice is to stay over at both/either.
We didnt do both at the same time.
Both places are worth staying at IMO we stayed 2 nights at south rim and 2 nights at sedona in seperate years.
both are similar distances from Vegas about 5 hours from memory
Like Ferf says if its just the GC you want to go to I wouldnt stay at Sedona, if you want to do both then I would plan 3 days minimum away from vegas0
