Paris cheaper than Bally's?! How did you manage that one?

We have stayed at Paris a few times, but it is sometimes horrendously expensive, especially compared to Bally's.

    I know, it's so weird?

We checked all options after logging in - 5 nights, 8 nights, just hubby, hubby+me - all combinations...because it's St Patrick's Day weekend and March Madness we could not get all 8 nights comped no matter what combination we tried - only 5...and the nights we have to pay something for are our first 3 nights...so booking 5 was same price as 8...Paris was about $150 total...Bally's (south tower) was about $250 I think...makes no sense.

No idea - it didn't make sense looking at their standard rate calendars either...I thought maybe Bally's was hosting something but would have expected rate calendar to reflect that.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    Hi

We are looking forward to our first trip to Vegas this Saturday (yeaahhh) to celebrate my 40th birthday. We are staying at Bally's.

Can someone confirm whats the norm for tipping out there - especially in the rooms - do you tip the cleaner daily or upon departure? How much? We are staying in a standard classic room.

    Thanks :-)

We don't tip the cleaners, they are not on minimum wage like valets, waiters and valets.
Will leave them something on the pillow if we want some extra towels or turndown service.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Ah, so this isn't strictly Vegas, but this is a great deal for anyone considering a bit of a west coast tour (or just wanting to go to San Fran!) so worth a post

London --> San Francisco (Delta / KLM) from £462 in April & September (1 stop)

    More info here:
    http://www.holidaypirates.com/uk-ireland/flights-san-francisco-london-462-trip-incl-taxes

A quick check of a Multi Centre (flying into SFO on 5th September, and out of LAS on 17th September), gives a price of £543, with 1 stop outbound and 2 on the return which doesn't seem too bad in the current climate :)

What sort of food do you like. What day will it be. A brunch at Wynn or Bellagio might be nice on a birthday if it's a Saturday or Sunday, although that would have to be about 2 or 3pm at latest.

There is a huge variety of restaurants, you would need to state preferred cuisine and price range - these vary dramatically!!
