Where have you booked for mammoth lakes? We are looking at stopping off there on our way back to SFO.

Hi we are staying at Mammoth Creek Inn, we did a bit of research and as far as we can see you have to book in advance for anywhere through the Lakes as it gets fully booked in the summer. Our original plan was to stop somewhere on the hop, but changed when we realised we didn't fancy sleeping in the car with the bears around lol.

We are right behind you. Are you going for NASCAR again? Sorry we aren't going to be able to meet this time. Maybe if you win a jackpot or two you'll stay on for a bit longer.

That had me in a panic - but checked and NASCAR is this weekend so we will miss it. Sorry that we will miss you guys too but still holding out hope for that jackpot so you never know! :)

As for MyVegas, hubby says I have 9000 points as he plays a bit for me if I leave myself logged into Facebook...he enjoys it whereas I struggle with it but I'm looking forward to the rewards for his hard work shortly. I am looking forward to CC Steakhouse but moreso Bellagio lunch buffet...and Criss Angel I've decided I will buy an over-priced drink in order to perhaps help me enjoy it? I am really curious to see what we think of it having read almost exclusively bad reviews for years. Since we have zero expectations we will probably love it.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

    Hi

We are looking forward to our first trip to Vegas this Saturday (yeaahhh) to celebrate my 40th birthday. We are staying at Bally's.

Can someone confirm whats the norm for tipping out there - especially in the rooms - do you tip the cleaner daily or upon departure? How much? We are staying in a standard classic room.

At Bally's we have had mixed success in leaving $10 our first day with a note asking for a refrigerator...2x we got one 1x we did not (just a note to say call down to the front desk).

It is supposed to be quite easy to get an upgrade to the north tower with a $20 tip at check-in.

We normally tip every day for the reason jammerr gives - different cleaners different days...we also sometimes leave most of our loose change our last day (at least before we discovered TI has a change counter thingy that spits out a slip you take to the cage for actual money).

I keep forgetting we are not staying at Bally's this trip...it's confusing me...but Paris was cheaper overall for our dates which made no sense but hey.

Paris cheaper than Bally's?! How did you manage that one?

We have stayed at Paris a few times, but it is sometimes horrendously expensive, especially compared to Bally's.

That said, one of the nights I booked months ago was more than 3 times the price last time I checked.

I prefer the mob museum downtown to the attraction at Tropicana. The interactive bit at Trop was just not my cup of tea.
