I'm a smarty pants :D , thats how i found out who the deal is with..
    I'll explain anyhow :):)

Do a seach for cars on CH3000 in Vegas airport, the Chrylser 300c deal shows up as airport for £213.89 inc fuel.....
Then do same search but include all areas in Vegas, you see the same deal for the airport, then you see the same deal giving an address of Swenson street....
Do a google search, and there you see Dollar rental :D:)
you can also use dollar.com and see it on there too, would appear swenson st has a low figure for prem rental :):)
However, I get the feeling Dollar use TownCars instead of the Chrysler 300c, but i could be wrong! I might call them to see if they stock more towncars than the 300c :)

Dollar at the airport def had more town cars than anything else last time I was there..they are awful cars

    Just to note:
If u book a car via a UK operator, all insurances are covered, no excess too..
The tyres/keys and windowscreen aint covered, unless u choose that option...
Not the same as going to spain, where they sell u CDW, then super CDW, then super super CDW, and then super mega super CDW, until u end up spending £1000000000 on a hire car for 2 days :):D

This Alamo.co.uk with fuel deal has worked out a treat! Cant get my head around it, the convertable is cheaper than a small poncy car!!!
And looking at netflights, CH3000, usrentacar, etc etc, the costs are a lot higher for the same car (which i would expect!!)

Either Alamo has some promo on that doesnt show anywhere, or its a glitch, etc..
Either way, i got my voucher now on email, all booked, all paid, nothing else to pay, sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet! :D:D
oh and i went via TopCashBack, so should have £18.18 coming to me!!! :D:D
and cheers photome, that does help, as not a keen fan on the towncars!

    I don't know for sure.
I pre-paid Alamo Brits when booking, then filled in the Save Time, at which point my adding another driver's details resulted in an extra line on my final confirmation showing the driver by name at an additional $10.99 plus taxes per day.
This happened last time also, but I cleared it up with the rental clerk when collecting the car, and was not charged the extra.

To be honest, I would have saved time if I hadn't done the Save Time.

Its a bit confusing, and I wouldn't like to say whether the additional driver tax is included, or even if by naming an additional driver on Save Time they assume thats a fourth driver over and above the three included additional drivers, hence it showing as a charge.

I can only confirm I wasn't charged last time for the same thing.

    Hi,

I wish I prepaid. I opted to pay on arrival. My price was suppossed to be £304.00. Now it's looking like 330.00 odd.

I just booked 1 week Convertable with Alamo.co.uk with the tank of fuel + wife to drive = £170
Cheapest out of all the cars! How strange ?!! Booked and pre-paid that is :):)

So now, gotta find out what kinda cars they keep (chrys 200's? mustangs? cameros ? eclipse's ? )
:):) Oh well, dollar express wont be getting used this year!

I can also it seems get a convertable cheaper than the SUV I have hired through CH3000 but would have to go to the airport to pick up rather than TI, it seems to good to be true:D

How will you get round the credit card issue (you say you dont have one) in their terms

    Identification required for rental
Full and valid Driver’s License from country of origin, Passport and credit card in renters name.

It does seem that all taxes and insurances are included

Is that a general rule across all UK operators? Alamo specific? or just an assumption based on what you've seen?

(sorry, that sounds a bit condescending, but if its fact, it'll save me always worrying about whether what I need is included - I know in the past it seems to have depended on who you book through!)

Of course, I'd still have to check out what the excess was I guess... as that can differ (or can it?) :)

across the board, came in years ago when booking via UK agents...
I've rented many a times in the past which always includes the insurance with no excess...
Stopped using credit cards in 2009, but i know Dollar excepts Visa Debit cards...
Also found out Alamo/National except Visa Debit too, although no hold should come out, as there is no reason to take a hold deposit, especially as i have the fuel paid for.......

I've used in the past, Budget, National, Alamo and in 2011, all 3 were with Dollar, although booked via netflights and usrentacar (again, UK agents)
Cant remember where i read about the insurance/tax thing, was years ago i read it!

When hiring in the US, pointless booking on a US website...... Prebook which gets you the voucher, happy days! :)

and to note about excess, the mustang i booked with usrentacar which was from MCO, when i took it back after 3 days, i got a massive scrape dwon the side.... Not my fault, but filled the forms in anyway, as said, no excess, so nowt to pay :):)
Tyres/Keys and windowscreen is a different matter, to whch u are liable unless u take an extra insurance thing :)

I mentioned before that a convertible was coming up the cheapest vehicle type on Alamo Brits - seems like something is wrong in their system.

I do not actually want a convertible or I might be tempted to try the Alamo Brits thing.

Stuie - you can normally pick up at TI and drop off at the airport - at least with CH3000, as we have done so the last few trips.

I didn't think all UK 3rd parties had no excess though...could be wrong.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Strangely, I don't get the choice of a convertible at all (ie. anywhere in the list) :( though we are doing a pickup in Denver so that may be the problem (and don't think I'd actually want one either for the journey we're doing, but was thinking if it was that cheap, they may let me just swap it for a normal car and I could save cash that way!)
  • I noticed this morning that Alamo had good rates on convertibles, even rang to make sure that everything was included.
Just got a convertible car for 2 weeks in September £247

    Very happy with that :rotfl:

I am trying to search for prices for the second half of the trip with check in on the 19th and I keep getting an error saying I already have a reservation for the dates I've selected and to log out if I require additional reservations. I get the same error if I change the check in date to the 20th. I have emailed them to ask, their response time is noted at 3-5 working days :rotfl:
In the meantime does anyone have any ideas?

I wonder if you're only allowed one reservation per promo offer or something?

Off to hunt for offers on some other websites while I wait for their answer...

Well I received a reply to my query...

Thank you for writing Caesar's Palace.

We apologize for any inconvenience you may have experienced with our online booking system. We are currently investigating the error in our system that is preventing you from booking online. In the meantime, we would be happy to assist you in booking your reservation via our Reservations Department at 1.800.CAESARS (1.800.223.7277). Our online system will not currently allow two reservations booked within a 48 hour period of each other.

If there is anything else we can do to further assist you, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

    Thank you,

    ... which explains why I couldn't book!

In the meantime though, we have gone off Flamingo a bit after reading reports of the construction noise etc. I know we could probably get moved rooms if it was an issue but we really just don't want the bother!

Have been browsing and seen some good rates for Palazzo, tempted to stay an extra couple of nights at Bally's and then splash out a bit, go out in style! :) Has anyone ever got them to price match Quickrooms or Low Cost USA? Would save about 100 quid if I could and would prefer to book direct. :money:
