How did you get your flight and the too short transfer sorted out Stuie ?I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
Ferf - u did indeed mention alamo, hence me looking on there, so cheers for that !!
Duchy: Heres the plan, A-Team style!
My boss is flying with KLM to Amsterdam on Weds (goes quite often).
He said the time the flight states it arrives, is the time when the plane stops, not when the plane lands.....
He said on average, from touchdown to collecting bags, and out to taxi rank is about 25 minutes.
Kinda said its not like UK airports where lazy baggage handlers twiddle there thumbs! Fast moving there, etc.....
Soooooooooooooo
A-Team style = we get off plane around 8:30am, then get on bus, and bag collect, will be checked-in online already anyway, so just a case of going to bag drop, should still leave us around 90 mins spare
Thats the plan anyway!!
Am still gonna email both airlines and ask them to send my bag straight through.... they can only say no.....
And as daft as it sounds, a bit of panic can make for a great hol!!! hah !!0 -
Stuie you are utterly insane !!!
Even a half an hour delay could put your entire trip in chaos or up for change fees- still at least it's Amsterdam and not Paris I suppose.
Hope it all works out for youI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

to be fair I did not mention Alamo Brits originally (that was Wendell Pierce) - just noticed the convertible being the cheapest when I compared AB vs CH3000 for our dates which still had CH3000 cheaper by far for the type of car we wanted.
If I wanted a convertible I would be tempted, but my worrying nature would be triggered big style in fear of getting there and getting stuck with something/getting an email saying there was an error and they had changed me to an economy car...which I know they normally never have, but we want an intermediate 4-door so that's what I book.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
across the board, came in years ago when booking via UK agents...
my current CH3000 booking states:
Insurance & Waivers Information
When you hire a car through rentalcars.com, your car rental agreement will normally include collision damage waiver & theft waiver. Collision Damage Waiver will waive your liability to pay for any damage caused to the vehicle during the period of hire. Theft Waiver provides coverage for the theft or damage resulting from attempted theft of the vehicle, its parts and accessories up to their full value and any loss that our car rental partner may incur. Both are subject to certain exclusions. Your liability is waived subject to you paying a charge, referred to as an “excess” which limits your liability to the cost of the excess only. In some instances, an excess will not apply and you will be advised of this at the time of making your booking.
Your rental includes Collision Damage Waiver and Theft Protection with zero excess.
The bold bit would imply that zero excess is not always the case with them (I don't know about other operators).Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
rentalcars.com aint british.....
depsite there quotes, etc....0 -
Sorry I missed your post. You should have sent me a PM!
Probably the same as you did. I looked at the available seating on TM, chose the seats I wanted, which I think are Table 22 Seats 1 & 6, then called the box office and asked if I could book the TZ offer with them. We had 2 dates in mind and chose the date with the best seats available.
We had Table 28 the last 2 times we have gone and they were great seats, but these ones are even closer.
Hope you enjoy the show. When do you go?
Hi,
Can you please tell me how you booked your seats over the phone using the Travelzoo offer?
I rang the box office (702-777-7776) but the lady I spoke to knew nothing about the offer. She asked her supervisor who told me I had to take a print of the offer to the box office and book in person as they do not take telephone bookings.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks.0 -

well...neither is Alamo Brits...so how do you determine which UK agent is British and which is not?
I'm just not clear on why some people suggest specifically buying car hire excess insurance if there's never any excess in booking with a UK agent? I honestly don't know the answer but seems strange if there are no excesses when booking through UK agents as you suggest?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
as said, cant remember how it all came about...
I just know that booking a car via CH3000, usrentacar, netflights, dollar.co.uk, alamo.co.uk, national, etc, when you book, a prepaid voucher is produced which states no excess and all taxes paid...
Only other insurance would be for windowscreen/keys/tyres...
And Alamo brits is a british registered company..
Rentalcars.com is owned by priceline.com which is a US company...
Either way, you will know if your booking via a UK agent0 -
Well.... I've just booked the holiday for myself & my partner for June. I have got us two weeks at Vdara for £1051 via expedia (+£72 cashback form Qudico :j:j)
We are stopping at Philadelphia, save me £500 compared to flying direct... however I am sure he will be happy with a surprise Vegas Holiday for his 30th!!0
