Who's best to fly with? BA Heathrow (has just gone up £35 each) £1263.58 or Virgin Gatwick £1147? Both direct.

Who's best in your opinion? I have flown with both but can't decide if it's worth paying an extra £116 to not have to travel so far. I live in the midlands! Thanks

thanks...may mean our being platinum will come to an end after current expiration as not sure we would be able to make the additional 1k tier credits necessary in an average year...we shall see.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

That's why we first started using BA. The 3 1/2 hour drive to get to LGW was killing us, especially on the way home. Now it's only 2 hours, and you will most likely have to stay over night at Gatwick so there is hotel costs and an extra day car parking.
You will have to decide if you want to get to Vegas in the afternoon or the evening as well. BA gets us to the hotel by 9pm, just in time to empty the bags, shower and go for a meal before turning in, we prefer that to getting there early afternoon and trying to stay awake for the rest of the day.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Me neither. They ask for opinions but when it's not want they want to hear get funny. Look mate, it will be fine, your connecting flights won't go wrong, you will get them dead cheap so that negates the cost factor, and the airline won't mind you dumping the last leg, I mean how would they know anyway, not like they have technology these days. Oh, and don't worry about them having your CC details, not likely to charge you for them losing revenue. There, that better.;)

That's a bit harsh ........I think so long as you do it as a one off (BA hit the exec holders who were doing it as a regular thing and FF cards and the tracking of their activity made them sitting ducks) and have contingency plans as I mentioned above .....and use a 3rd party to book so BA *don't* have your creditcard number a no-show on a flight like LON DUB is not going to raise flags in almost all cases. The risk is IMO and experience-tiny.

Book several , boast about your fabulous deal to other passengers , credit to the same FF card and book tight connections and yes of course it's asking for trouble. Like I said earlier -you need to be sensible .

Of all the carriers BA is the most likely to notice and for choice I would try to use someone else but if push came to shove-I'd do it especially for a short break without hold baggage (I can pack for a week with hand baggage only for Vegas though )

Thanks. We have booked BA & just booked Flamingo's. Been to Vegas in 2010 & stayed at MGM, 2011 stayed at Planet Hollywood. Went to Mexico 2012 but missed Vegas like mad!

This trip is unexpected as my best friend has just told me that she is getting married there in March, so just had to book.

Any excuse to visit Vegas! :j

dont understand why its so much cheaper to fly from Dublin/Paris/Amsterdam, infact, anywhere, apart from ALL London or Manchester to Vegas at the mo......

I'm doinf flight searches for 22nd May to 1st June, but anything from London or Manc is coming out at stupid prices, compared with the other airports........ cant understand why so high ?!! :(

I believe it's all due to the insane amount of tax that the British government adds on - it's almost half the cost of the ticket :-(
