No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in January 2013

A UU this morn, Boots Extracts Cocoa Butter Body Wash - WBA - nice subtle fragrance.
Got two Sanctuary sets yesterday in our local Boots, only a small branch but they had loads, got these for mine and OH's mums for Mother's Day so won't be going in the stash or need to be declared as IN, pre-challenge I'd have definitely bought myself one too so progress!! Although I had already stocked up on Boxing Day so I'm not that angelic... Will save OH panicking last min and forking out a ridiculous amount for disappointing flowers, he can't think ahead though and was a bit underwhelmed with my bargain haul! Honestly...
My washing machine has finally given up the ghost after months of sounding like a jumbo jet taking off so I'm off to shop washing machines! Its almost a relief now that its finally juddered to a halt (not spinning at all, cue soaking wet dressing gowns of all things), it must be almost ten years old so not too bad, although it didn't have terrible heavy usage as there's only me and formally my ex but that wasn't for long :rotfl: All I know is it'd practically cost as much to have it repaired if that's even possible than to get a new one so no point in messing about. That doesn't sound very MSE but I think it will be in the long run.
Enjoy your day everyone0 -
2 out and 2 in today...
Chucked out an old mascara and the Aldi mascara which gives me panda eyes after 5 minutes!
Bought a new cheap everyday mascara (Miss Sporty Waterproof for £1.99) I'm lucky to have long lashes so don't need posh mascara even though I love the Lancome Hypnose Drama that my auntie got me last Christmas. I wish she'd got it for me this Christmas because it's great for nights out.
Bought Adee Phelan dry shampoo 150 ml from Family Bargains for 99p. I've never tried dry shampoo so thought I'd give it a go as like someone upthread I have fine hair which may benefit from dry shampooDecluttering 2015: 2162/20150 -

One UU to report - Soap and Glory Hand Food 125ml. Although I am bored with S&G, this isn't a bad hand cream - although definitely not the most astonishing hand cream ever, which it sort of claims on the packaging! I found this when I was having a clear out in my bedroom and there wasn't much left in it. Cut it open and there would have been a few uses left in it but every time I tried it it made my hands sore and I had to wash it off. I think this is probably due to the fact that it's gone off rather than me developing a reaction to it though.
I have a 50ml tube of this in my desk in work which is sputtering and will be getting cut open soon. I doubt I will need to buy any hand creams again for a long time as I have quite a few and if I run out of them I have loads of body butters/lotions/creams that I can use.3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -
maddiemay: great news about your brother.
roguelawyer: have you cancelled your Specsavers solution? I also don't use as much as a bottle a month so I cancel it for a quarter while I use up the rest. Saves £3/month too!0 -
One UU to report - Aveda Light Elements Smoothing Fluid. WBA, it's a HG for me (Aveda are my favourite hair products by miles). However, I don't need to buy another for a while - have another bottle in reserve as well as a different Aveda serum to UU once that is finished.0

Happy Sunday everyone. Just catching up with the thread:
Maddiemay - great news about your brother - hope his road to recovery continues.
Rogueylawyer - don't be embarrassed about your stash - mine is over 1,000 and I couldn't even contemplate fitting it on a MSE post - my aim is to get it down to a size I can post on here...
VALM - well done on resisting the YC - I had a look but thought it was a bit meh.
And some UUs to make my day:
Liz Earle daily eye repair - WBA, does what it says on the tin and a lovely light texture that doesn't leave my eyes greasy. No need to restock just yet though as have started another 5ml tube this morning.
Now this next one is what I refer to as a 'bugle moment'as it was a LHJ but have finally finished:
Bare Minerals Joyous Jennifer blush - this was a good colour for me but no need to buy again as I have plenty of other blushers to keep me going. This one has lasted years - I think this was my first BM blush from the days when they used to be called Bare Escentuals. One day I will work out how many grams of BM blusher I own but for now that is a scary thought so I won't...0 -
Another few uu's for me
Decleor l'age experience cream - wnba, got this in a kit and although I like the brand normally I wasn't keen on this cream.
S&G body butter - wnba, have loads in the stash already which needs to be used before I buy any body creams.
I am trying to remember to moisturise my body every day, it will improve my skin and reduce the stash. Win win all round.VSP member #250 -

Hi Granny! It must have been you I was thinking of
In Superslug they had their own brand dry shampoo in various fragrances in 150ml cans for £1.99 each - buy 1 get 2 free! That is an even better price per ml but I thought I'd wait to see if I get on with dry shampoo before bringing 3 cans of it into the house. I'm supposed to be decluttering after all......
