xxsally1990xx - one thing I think all of us who have been around for a LONG time can agree on, is if you find something that works and you love (im thinking about your comments about the moisturiser) its worth spending the cost on (after reserching online to see if you can get it cheaper or through top cashback or something !) because what happened to most of us, is that we'd keep buying and trying - and products dont save you money if you have to keep replacing cos they arent much good.... Not telling you TO buy that moisturiser - just thinking its something that you might not have thought of when faced with a £30 bill (well, thats what I always forget!)

And if we didn't buy such ridiculous amounts of products we could easily afford that expensive product we love. That's what really annoys me about my stash. There are products/brands I love, but don't buy because I can't possibly justify the cost. But, I could afford them if I didn't buy crap. For example, I have always wanted to own a Chanel blusher, but they are too expensive. I was going through my stash and had 6 cheap blushers all in similar shades. I could have bought the Chanel one with the money I spent on those 6 blushers.

I've had a little run of UU's, feeling quite proud of myself!

Nicky Clarke Hairomatherapy Lift Thicken & Shine Styling Spray 200ml WNBA Not sure if still produced, left hair a bit crunchy.

Pantene 2min Intensive Nourishing Treatment Fine Hair 200ml WBA Does what it says on the tin.

ohn Frieda Collection Brilliant Brunette Shine Shock Perfecting Glosser 75ml WBA If I still had brown hair!

Ted Baker Bodywear Invigorating Body Wash 50ml WBA Nice enough.

The Body Shop Cocoa Butter Body Butter 200ml WBA Nice scent.

Philosophy Purity Made Simple 30ml WBA Calming on the skin.

Elemis Pro-Radiance Cream Cleanser 30ml WBA Reminds me of Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish.
  • Thanks guys ... ill have a search online and maybe go with the dermalogica one then since I know it works :-) xx
    Side Hustle - Ladyandthetramper.com
  • UU S&G hand food WNBA it was in the pump bottle and had gone off but I used it for shaving my legs in the shower. I am now using body lotion for this job as I have loads! Started a TBS Shea Whip body lotion.

UU Dove intensive conditioner small magazine freebie WBA made my hair soft and smells nice.
  • UU Dead Sea Source nourish shea body cream 50ml

WIBA? I don't think you can buy these products any more (they were a present from a friend in 2010 I believe) but the lemon smelled very strongly, in a fairy liquid kind of way.

Replaced with a full size Champneys relaxing body butter 175ml from a relaxing Champneys set bought in the boxing day sales 2011. So far I love this product, it sinks in nicely and smells divine on a Sunday night before I start back to work.

In an effort to chase away the Sunday night blues I had a PYN Sunday, nails are decorating with Nails Inc Bolton Place, a pearlised silver/mushroom colour. Love the colour, was bought for me by a friend this Christmas.
  • I have a few more UUs to report. Its a nice feeling to actually be using products, rather than buying them and stashing them. I agree with someone above about being able to buy some high end products with the money you have wasted on loads of cheap stuff. I would rather have a few nice toiletries than loads of cheap stuff.:D

    Heres my UUs:
Lush Dream Cream - I bought this when I had a flare up of excema and nothing else would clear it up, so WBA if started with excema again.
Liz Earle Foot Scrub - I received this to test from Beauty Bible. Its a nice product but WNBA as I dont need a separate scrub for my feet.
Laughter Body Scrub from Spacenk - I got this free when I had enough points on my loyalty card. WNBA as nothing special
Snowberry Nourishing Lite Day Cream sachet - as with the night cream this seemed to have gone off as smelled funny so WNBA. This came in a beauty box
Aqua Boost Moisturising Eye Mask - this is an asian product so I WNBA as I dont know when to purchase it as got it in a beauty box from someone who visits Hong Kong regularly. Nice product though.

Now I just need to get through all the books, dvds and magazines that I have been hoarding. 2013 is definitely the year of using stuff that I have already purchased rather than buying new things :T
Have a great week everyone and thanks for such a friendly thread:)
    Plans for 2017:
Use up 150 make up and toiletries products 0/150)
Lose weight - target 28lbs
    Competition wins 2017 - Dermo28 Youthmas Skincare Set :j

An 'in' to declare - but it was planned - Aveda Madder root conditioner. WBA a HG product for me.

Maddiemay - great news about you brother, hope he continues to improve.

I am currently obsessing over an Emjoy Micro Pedi, I think I've Indiepanda to thank for that :rotfl: Not bought one yet but the reviews are amazing and I do suffer with hard skin on my heels from traipsing around in my bare feet and living in ballet pumps the rest of the time... No amount of pumice, cream or scrub gets the kind of results I'm after. Will definitely be purchasing when I decide where the best deal is to be had.

Emsjune78 - I've not looked into a micro pedi (what have I missed??) but you might want to look at a product called Pedikur. It's a liquid that you soak onto a little cotton pad, cover the bit of hard skin you want rid of, and then I wrap my foot in clinflim (just to keep the cotton wool on my foot). 10 mins later you get the chance to scrape away all of the dead/hard skin whick by this time has melted to a thick gell like texture. I find the stuff amazing and would not buy enything else.

It's a gadget that looks a bit like an electric razor, but instead of the usual shaving stuff at the top it has a roller covered in a sandpaper type thing that spins round and you hold it against your feet and it exfoliates the dead skin away.

Might be easier to understand following the Amazon link here
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Emjoi-Micro-Pedi-Portable-Pedicure-Device/dp/B005XUNG5I/ref=sr_1_1?s=drugstore&ie=UTF8&qid=1357542887&sr=1-1

I've not heard of the product you describe so can't compare the effectiveness of the two but the micro pedi is very easy to use and works well for me.

Hi V - I put £5 in for the TSVs I would have bought pre-challenge. The danger ones for me are Decleor and LE this month so if I manage not to cave in then I would put £5 each in for those. Nails Inc wouldn't have tempted me pre-challenge so I wouldn't put £5 in for that. I would say do whatever works for you.

It is getting very confusing now in the kitchen as I have several M&S Percy pig money boxes lined up, all for different things - I have to now remember which pig to put the money in....

Thanks kiplingmonkey, that''s what I was planning to do.
A few INS- Finally remembered my black pots when i went near Lush today so brazened honey face mask in, spent the No7 coupon on a nail varnish and foot balm to get my feet ready for the sun but alas, I got another voucher lol.

Yes, that's the problem with the Boots vouchers that sadly they breed! I gave mine away to Emma. She in turn tried to give me a L'Oreal one for foundation which thankfully I don't use or I would have been trawling around Boots and spending more.

Re: foundation I'm now finding the LG BnB in Porcelain too fair but am adding a very light dusting of Bronze N Brighten on top and it's working out fine.

Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Had a look at another Boots yesterday for the Gok set but they had none at all. I am not sure if I would have bought it anyway but would have liked the option. They did have them online a few days ago but in order to get free delivery to store I would have had to buy more. Anyway in the end I left Boots empty handed.

In the LIb advent calender I got a Richard Ward Volumising root booster which I am loving. Can anyone recommend a readily available product which you spray on damp hair and which leaves it lifted but soft and not crispy or sticky? TIA

Have a good day all, today is my kids last day off school so am hoping for a nice day without all the fighting.
