DD3 taken all dirty washing to utility
DD2 made DS lunch
DS wiped bath taps and washed out soap dish - SB5 cleaned bath, sink and shower and de-gibbled main bathroom, and wiped bathroom cupboards
EX MIL went to corner shop for OJ to go with iron pills :j and some more milk for tea (now staying til tomorrow morning)
SB5 put stray items back in proper kitchen cupboards, refed DW, recycled leftover rice into egg fried rice for snack later....collected empty glass jars in a box for someone to take to recycling bank at some point.... sink getting a thorough bleach soak (to remove evidence of Tea Bag mountain that failed to make it to the compost box 3 feet away ) pulled out newspapers and cardboard from general bin liner (yuck :eek::eek::eek:) to avoid council fining me £100 and put in correct recycling box
DD3 put away clean washing
EX MIL taken DD3 out for afternoon as last day of her holidays, so I can get DS down for a much needed nap
Flying in the Skint Ritz today is more like putting on the dangling oxygen masks, sticking your head between your knees, preparing for a crash landing and praying that you make it through the other side:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
LR is wrecked with newspaper, tea stains on cushions, and 2 of the 3 throws for the sofa are missing, a sleeping bag keeps being dragged around the room despite the fact I have rolled it up and put it away 3 times today (the house is not like a sauna admittedly, but it is not cold by any stretch of the imagination) this may have to be left until after EX MIL leaves....I am not going to keep re-doing stuff today...not enough spoons left
DD1 is still asleep, and will need to get her stuff packed up ready to go back to Uni on Monday, so she will have enough to keep her busy, so I will not inflict the LR on her
right more tea....and a lurk......Skint Breeder over and out :wave:The cold never bothered me anyway0 -
For the poorly tummy bug types - when one of us has that type I use a spray from dettol for all hard surfaces - so I can spray door handles, loo internally and externally, taps etc. It's available from Wilko, smells pleasant and does seem to cut down on cross-infection as usually only one of us has a tummy bug - with only 1 bathroom I do have to be careful. We also all have our own towels and a separate handtowel for visitors. Which I wash at 60 deg. (My mum was a nurse and taught me infection control;))
Thanks valli, I'm getting a bit paranoid and wiping down everything with disinfectant, constant hot washes on towels & bedding etc etc. This spray looks great I will pick some up when I'm free of infection. I think the worst is over but I feel exhausted.Elle_Woods wrote: »Morning everyone,
Thank you for all the welcomes and kind words; it means a lot. Well yesterday I managed to get through the biggest pile of washing up, put a load of washing on and booked a food shop for Saturday. I was exhausted after that...its mad...this flu really takes it out of you. Im not having a great day today...trying to stay strong for my beautiful children but I worry how I will cope on my own now. I know my marriage ending is the right thing but it still really hurts. Someone tell me that it gets easier??? Anyway I am going to give the oven and hob a good clean later, following all the Christmas cooking. Its not my favourite job in the world, but it needs doing. Hope you all have a good day xxx
It does get easier. Honest guv!! With the flu as well you are doing pretty well to keep going as you are. Don't wear yourself out but be proud of any job you do, however small. And don't struggle alone lovey there is always someone here who understands and can help/advise/just listen. Much love xx

Aaaaaargh!!!!!! Think I'm going to have to start Flyladying again from scratch next week as the plasterer has only just finished plastering the collapsed living room ceiling and DD2 is poorly, went to the doctors with her yesterday afternoon and this morning as she seemed worse rather than better, got medicine, she was promptly sick after taking medicine after having not been sick at all although feeling unwell and struggling to eat and drink. Had to go back and get more medicine for her. A fantastic start to 2013 this is turning out to be (Not!!!)
