Two bedrooms everything pulled out and hoovered. It will be the putting back where I lack motivation. Cooking dinner to have a break! The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0

Is GREEN with envy (I did the OU course and have some knowledge of this period/group. I have a copy of
*points* on the wall above and to the left of the PC - bought it from the gallery in Manchester where I saw the original and lots of other PRB paintings.
Penelope Penguin and Valli - I love the Pre-Raphelites and Romantic artists too! I like the 'Silver Favourites' that you have, but my favourites are the Pre-Raphs; I have quite a few (copies!) and my OH has just bought me a super, big, John Waterhouse - Ophela - for Christmas. I already had his 'Windflower' and he has used the same model.
Anyone who likes this and who lives in the North-West, and who wants an interesting, historical day out, probably suitable more for teens and adults, should have a day at Port Sunlight, near Liverpool. The art gallery there is beautiful and the history of the place (Sunlight Soap) is fascinating and also a reasonably MSE day out!

PS to Elle
Welcome to the Fabulous FlyLadies.
You will cope - you are already coping as much as anyone with an ounce of sympathy will expect you to be coping at this stage. Yes, it does hurt like h*ll right now. Yes, it will continue to hurt for quite some time, depending on how involved your ex is with the children. (FWIW, my advice would be to treat him like the stranger he has become to you, whilst trying to accept that for the children he is still Dad and therefore not to be criticised in front of them - i.e. don't use them as weapons in your war.) And yes, it does become easier - though often so slowly that you don't realise it until you can look back a year or two.
Sending you vibes for staying strong - but don't think you've failed if you break down occasionally. Tears are good for releasing tension, and you've got us here to support you.
Ellie - Ionafan has said this beautifully here, take the same advice, again, from one who has been through this, if you know it's the right thing then it is. And you will come through this horrible, dark place and have some joy in your life again, maybe not for a time, but one day you will be laughing and suddenly realise that you have reached a good milestone.
Welcome to the Flylady board, I'm still fairly new but there is good support and advice here. You take care of yourself and stay strong.
Ionafan - you have such a way with words - it's lovey to read your posts. I sincerely hope you are feeling much better soon.
Hugs to both of you, R xx0 -
Hi again. I've just had a read through as I didn't get chance yesterday, so good health wishes to Bonnie, Bossy, Msgmoney and any names I've forgotten! Mrs Moneypenny, was it you also feeling poorly and Betsie? Sorry if I've got the names wrong, I can't seem to scroll back.
I've had a busy couple of days, yesterday I cleaned the bathroom, put more Christmas stuff back in the tall bedroom cupboards, also did DW and WM, damp-dusted in the conservatory - after feeding cats, birds outside and getting our breakfast, then went to work! Dinner last night was pre-prepared with added fresh veg, so nice and easy, and tasty!
Today did the usual breakfast round for us and the animals, then tidied again, then up to sick friends to sort out a tv problem for him, cleaned his bathroom, kitchen bedroom, then went to bank and shops for him. Had a sandwich with him for lunch, to give him a bit more company, then back via shops and got some nice bits of food for us.
OH has taken the lead in walking next door's dogs and has had some IT and car issues to deal with, so he has been busy too. Plus, new cat had us up at silly o'clock, because, horrors, he'd eaten his wet food and only got biscuits left! Someone call the animal cruelty people now!!!
Bless him, he's just learning how to use the cat flap and he is ever so funny! He bolts through it, like it's going to eat him!! He was sat on my lap, earlier and gazing in adoration at me!!! (Smart animal!!!)
Tonight we are having Chicken kievs and chips, then vanilla cheesecake with bananas and chocolate sauce, and I don't care about the calories!
Good wishes all round, R x0 -
Got in from work and got a serious case of CBA. My get up and go appears to have gone AWOL. Having looked at today's list think the best thing I can do is start with the me time.
DD has changed her bed but didn't put it in WM so laudry basket over-flowing. Brew, start on tea, flick through local rag and then hopefully I will feel like making a start.Make £10 per day in July £45.48/£310
June £232.66, May £310.36, April £310.19, March £287.32, February £250.18, January £257.24
Swagbucks in 2015 £65/£1500 -
Thank the gods I did today's Flying yesterday! Today in the Wolf's Lair we had Mr LW wfh, so dins needed to be at 12:00. Morning was taken up with getting my HHWiiFit out of the way and prepping said dins (tagliatelle with tomatoes and veggie hot dogs), as well as listening to Mr LW run a bunch of work-related problems past me (he says it helps focus his mind to tell it to someone else - ie me!)
Dins having been eaten, he wanted to spend the rest of his lunch break playing Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 2 on the PS2 instead of his usual Conflict Desert Storm; so as BGDA2 is a 2-player game, my involvement was required.
Did my emails once he went back to his paid stuff - a gazillion surveys to fill out, only just finished by the time Mr LW was due to finish work (14:30, having started at 06:00) then we had to go to Mr T for a biggish shop, then into town for Mr LW to get a haircut; my arms are not currently strong enough to self-propel the wheelchair, so I waited in the car and did my brain training; then we banked my cheque (from doing online surveys), got a refill for his favourite pen, disposed of some dead batteries for recycling (in the bucket in WHS), visited Mr W for the stuff I couldn't get in Mr T, and did this weeks F&V shop at Central MK market.
I an now totally knackerooed, have a blinding headache, and am trying to type this whilst using my mini-walker machine (to keep my legs from atrophying as I can't actually walk other than around the bungalow).
Please, PLEASE can I have Flylady vibes for Mr LW-NOT-wanting-to-visit-the-pub, which he was on about doing earlier on.:D
I would go and get into jammies, but a) I need assistance to dress/undress, and Mr LW is busy doing his WiiFit, and b) I don't own any jammies!:rotfl:If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Dailies done and a bit off today's lst done before going to work. This weekend will be when I catch up with what's left of my lists.
Up early tomorrow to look for fridge freezer for DD. Bank of mum again. She was going to go to one of those shops where they charge a zillion in interest. I'd rather she paid me back than those sharks.
Load of washing in so that will be finished soon.
Hugs, spoons and sticks where needed.0 -
I'd love to join you guys on the Flylady challenge if that's OK ?
I've been meaning to do it for months now, as my house is getting out of control, and the NY is as good a time to start as any.
I'm rammed at work this week, so will be squeezing bits in to get started and on it properly next week.
Is there a place where I should start from / sign up ?

Welcome Gill
Nope you just 'jump right in' where you are!!!
I'm feeling much brighter today although my tum is still a bit sore
Been to the hairdressers and had my locks trimmed ready for back to school on Monday, then I went in to school and met with my year group partner and got SO MUCH DONE!!!!!! Surprising how well we work when there are no children in the way
OH is down in the slough of despond again ( I try so hard not to get sucked in!!:( but it's not easy) I have a doctors appointment for Tuesday to get my BP checked as I'm on HRT and to discuss my depression and Prozac (which I've not told OH about as it just never seemed right)
Anyway on Tuesday I gutted our room rearranged, cleaned , dusted, hoovered etc so I have at least got one room that feels and looks clean!! The spare room is still full of Christmas debris!!! But I can shut the door on thatGo hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0 -
Entire house looks a mess now and it was quite tidy earlier. Not the aim of flying. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0
