Narc0lepsy - your garden centre sounds lovely. Our nearest one is nice, but tries to be all upmarket and the owner wouldn't dream of giving anything away. Good quality plants, but everything's very pricy.

Yes it is good quality but expensive normally. I've not had membership before, as it used to only be valid before 1pm weekdays so wasn't much use, especially when I worked full time. Maybe in these times of recession they are having to give better deals. It's interesting that a lot of garden centres are now practically theme parks to drag the punters in.

Thanks ionafan I've had a browse and we've done a few of those, some good inspiration!

Well, I've pottered tonight, sorted out my smalls :o and chucked some religious sock (:D). Also rooted through make up and hair stuff *fling* and a couple of sweaters I don't wear (to fabric box).

Then done a bit of cross stitch, had a bath, and finished stitching. 2 threads down, 547 to go :rotfl:

Told DS earlier we were going to have a fun year as the sad year has finished. He wants to go on a train, on holiday (with a slide in a swimming pool :D), to the play gym and to nursery :A bless him. DD said she wanted to go on a swing. I think we can manage that. Had a brief look at holidays. Found a fab looking one for £800 per week. Each :eek::eek:

    Tree down tomorrow! Hurrah!

Aw bossy, your children are so sweet. It's the little things that sometimes mean the most, not money or "things". When my two were similar ages to yours, someone said to me that no matter what the weather, always head for water. If it was a sunny day, think paddling pool and seaside; if it was a wet day, think anoraks, wellies and puddles. Kids love water and it's free. I think the sad year/happy year conversation was a lovely way of them grasping the concept and I'm glad to hear you are turning a corner. Much love xx

Just had a peep at tomorrow's list and I think a lot of it will be doable.

    Tuesday - New Year's Day
Hoover out smoke alarms and test - ours is hanging off the ceiling and with an open fire, I will make this a priority
Back up photos from phone/laptop etc, enjoy looking over some

    Extras
Are coats and shoes, hats and gloves all clean and ready for the return to work school? I'll wash the coats, kids can polish shoes tonight
[STRIKE]Are anything thank you notes/phone calls still outstanding[/STRIKE]

Have a day planned in town tomorrow returning some Christmas pressies, so will tie-in half a dozen other jobs too.

The Sun holidays will be coming out soon, I got my priority brochure the other day. It might not be the holiday you were thinking of but it would be a break and it could easily cover the swimming pool with slide and the swings :D

    Morning all :D

Up early for a delivery which is already here. Was very weird getting up at 6.40. Normally I sleep through the alarm, but it would seem the "old fashioned ringy" alarm as DD calls it works, especially when I leave it outside my bedroom door instead of within staggering distance. Surprising what a difference opening my bedroom door makes to how awake I feel :rotfl::rotfl: DD will hate me though, I'm setting it for 7am tomorrow, well she has got homework to do due Monday :D

Going to have me a 40min challenge, then I'll start work for an hour or so.

    Monday Bit of Everything
    Level One

Have home been found for all the presents? Try to get one thing out of the house for each thing in - new socks, get rid of the religious ones etc - DD will be bringing more gifts home today so I've left hers on her bed for her to deal with ;)
    Level Two
Declutter floors Not just into a box or binbag to hide away, try to put things where they belong, a home for everything will make life easier - done where I can, still DD's room to go when I've put the boxes of decs in the cupboard.
Sweep/mop/hoover floors you can now see
    Level Three
HHI - who has achieved that empty basket? - I almost did, but I moved something yesterday and found a small pile of stuff :(

    Extras
Clean WM/DW filters and put through on a clean cycle
    Meal plan for the week

    Tuesday - New Year's Day

Hoover out smoke alarms and test
Back up photos from phone/laptop etc, enjoy looking over some

Wednesday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One

    Descale kettle, iron, taps etc
    Level Two
    Sweep/mop/hoover floors
Wipe kickboards or legs of cupboards
    Level Three
Wash or exchange washing up brush, teatowels, cloths, dusters
    Declutter one cupboard
Wipe the hob and extractor fan
    Extras
Are coats and shoes, hats and gloves all clean and ready for the return to work school?

I am off to strip my bed, and put decs away then I may do some other things from the list :D
Creeping back in for accountability after falling off the wagon in 2016.
Need to get back to old style in modern ways, watching the pennies and getting stuff done!
  • Morning - with you ladies today on a gentle level 1 and a bit more if the tree trunks that are my legs can manage it.....EX MIL arrives this afternoon :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:

DS is back at nursery today:eek:, so I will try and do level 2 while he is out :D

Wednesday - Kitchen and Dining Room
    Level One
[STRIKE]Wipe the table and work surfaces [/STRIKE]put everything away that shouldn't be there
[STRIKE]Descale kettle[/STRIKE], vinegar in and boiled once - so work in progress - iron, taps etc
    Level Two
    Sweep/mop/hoover floors
Wipe kickboards or legs of cupboards
    Level Three
Wash or exchange washing up brush, teatowels, cloths, dusters
    Declutter one cupboard
Wipe the hob and extractor fan
    Extras
Are coats and shoes, hats and gloves all clean and ready for the return to work school?

    URGENT EXTRAS for me

Check and double check hospital bags for me and flybaby - including phone charger

Go to cashpoint and get emergency cash for DD1 and DD2 in case I don't come home from my appointment tomorrow

colour code kitchen utensils to prevent food wars while EX MIL is here

label inside kitchen doors with what SHOULD go inside each one - EX MIL has an annoying habit of re-organising ALL my kitchen cupboards, which means no one can find things, and I end up buying doubles of things when I return

DW unloaded, WM fed X 2, TD fed x 1 - Skint Breeder 5 fed once :rotfl: :rotfl:hmmmm poached egg spinach and mustard yogurt :) - extractor fan is still running, but it was worth it :rotfl:

DD1 got in about 8 oc and was still awake at 4 am, so I doubt she will surface for awhile.....DD2 will rematerialise at some point today as college tomorrow, DD3 not back til Monday, so I doubt she will surface much before noon.....DS had night terror last night, so he wasn't asleep much before 2 am, so letting him sleep in til the last minute poor little fella :( then its slowly back into the normal run of things

Hugs and spoons to all who need.......I will be lurking with cuppa in between when I am not flying or posting
The cold never bothered me anyway
