Happy New Year to everyone - sorry it's a bit late!

    Bossy
, I don't know your circumstances but am really glad that you are feeling positive.

Has anyone used the website allrecipes.co.uk? I've just recently discovered it and am going to try a chicken curry tonight.

As for flying - washing in WM, run DW, picked up gibble all over the floor and got rid of almost a full bin bag from DD's room so very satisfying. Got an IKEA bag full of stuff for the Charity Shop too and think this will be a pretty regular thing.

two packs of sausage meat. Never used it before (it's now in the freezer) but I'm thinking I could layer it up with onions (maybe fry it off first) lay sliced potatoes over the top and invent some kind of sausage meat hotpot. P'raps add carrots...

    any thoughts?

What about making up some pastry? Me and DD did 8oz flour and 4oz butter the other day and mushed up 1 pack of sausage meat with 1 diced apple and made up 2 GIANT sausage rolls which we sliced into 2 cm slices and it stretched to 8 portions with some oven chips and mushy peas - nom nom nom.

With the other pack, I think you should go ahead with the ingredients you have mentioned about, but dice an onion, a potato and a couple of carrots and add some S&p or a stock cube and again, roll out circles of pastry and create some "pasties" for the freezer - they're a really good grab and reheat standby with peas and gravy.

Hi Mumof2 - I usually use BBC Good Food website however, I used allrecipes last Thursday for a Lamb Tagine and it was so good, that I remade it on Sunday for friends we had visiting for a long weekend. It is absolutely tremendous this recipe:-

I'm going to try out a few more of the recipes on there. Let us know how you get on with the curry.

    Afternoon/Evening peeps

Phew seems like I have hardly stopped since I got going. Tree all down with DD's help and packed away properly and taken up and put away into the attic. Furniture rearranged and hoovered underneath in living room, ll downstairs hoovered and up stairs. Stair treads wiped down as well. Need to now determine what we are having for tea, then I better go and find some work gear for th morning which I am so not looking forward to. Still only 3 days this week then all next week and I'm off again for 2 weeks Mwah ha ha (just when all the new bosses start - including the one who got the job I went for so I am glad I wont be there until 3 weeks after they have started)

    Is it bedtime yet?

Spent an hour sitting infront of the fire (literally) playing cluedo with DS3 and DH with my favourite mog on my lap - she loves cluedo :rotfl: then another hour laying on the floor watching the cross-country skiing.

Cooking dinner now, last meal of leftovers I think.

Plans to see Mum tomorrow, old friend Thursday and some other friends are coming Saturday afternoon, evening so that just leaves Friday morning (or possibly Thursday pm) to get DS2 new shoes.

  • I can't believe I have been phone, fb and flylady free for 24 hours.....:D

I managed a sneaky cheat on the ironing challenge....after all the washing that I had done had been put away there was still a good couple of hours of ironing ahead, and I was supposed to be going into the nice next door neighbours to see in the new year....

I found a symbol on the washing machine I hadn't really paid attention to before...... a steam function, put the basket of ironing in, set off the program, then pulled it out straight onto hangers when done, and stuck in wardrobes......not perfect as a flat iron by any stretch, but much better than what comes out of the TD.

Well before we all got ready for our various NYE things, all washing baskets were empty.....cue showers, wet towels and dirty clothes times 5 and I had two baskets overflowing with laundry :rotfl::rotfl: SO I am going to call that the Ironing Challenge done and complete :j:j:j:j

Went into neighbours at 9...came home at 2am!!!! although I sat down all night, my legs were like tree trunks.....so today I have had a down day.....I have been in bed with legs up til 3pm, but they are still quite swollen so i have just pottered around.......DD1 and DD2 are not home from their shenanigans....DD2 is coming home tomorrow, and DD1 will "let me know" so a Ch!nese takeaway for DD3, DS and me as a little treat is the order of the day!

Then back in on Level 1 minimum tomorrow :p Brownies honour!

Happy New Year to all the flyladies, flygents, lurkers and newbies joining/rejoining! Here's to banishing CHAOS and clutter a day at a time in 2013 :j
