That, Bossy, is probably because you have come such a long way over the past year - a journey not of your choice. Always the hardest roads. I'm so pleased you feel so positive. Great knitting, valli, and the wool sounds gorgeous. I like the idea of the sausage hotpot. My godmother makes something a bit similar with sliced spuds and shredded cabbage - layering both in a dish with meatballs made from sausage meat, topping with stock and simmering in the oven. Depends on how you feel about cabbage.
DS2 and I had a lovely evening with our nice neighbours last night. Had food and wine, played games and generally chilled. DS2 is already back with them, playing with his friend. DH was at the club and DS1 out at a party and I don't think either enjoyed themselves as much as we did.
We've all had something to eat, apart from DS1 who hasn't surfaced yet. Time for me to hop in the bath and do some thinking/planning for this year (and tonight's tea)
I read this earlier and it's given me some ideas, just as I was at risk of becoming overwhelmed with all the things I want to achieve in 2013.

Lists in a bit. Hope everyone enjoys the day.
ETA Lovely post, bossy. Wishing you and yours happy stories to write on the shiny new pages. You've described how I usually feel about the new year. I love Christmas, but have always had a soft spot for NYE and NYD.0 -
Can I join in too please? I really find it difficult to motivate myself to do housework and it shows by the state of my house. I work full time and have 3 children ages 15,13 and 7, OH is retired but dosen't do much around the house so it mainly falls to me and often because I have quite a stressful job I'm just too exhausted to start on housework when I stagger in from the office. Any help, advice, hints and tips would be very much appreciated as although I live with 4 other people I don't get much support at all from them in keeping our home nice.loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!:eek:0

I'm flagging already, slight hangover and lack of sleep so a cuppa and some chocolate as a pick me up next. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -

Happy New Year to fellow fliers!
DH is running round cleaning, which is annoying the rest of us who would like a 'mellow' day (DH is not the sort to party in the New Year - he sort of nods to it as it arrives...)
DS not home yet, DD2 got in at 4 - she had fallen in a winebar and bruised her tailbone.....:(:(
I may never be the world's greatest flier, but I am popular - DD2 was desperate for food and didn't know what she wanted to eat - but I picked up 3 whoopsied pizzas in M&S yesterday. One pizza later she's feeling much better! She happily concedes that she has gone out too many times recently - she's looking forward to some lazy days before she goes back to work.
Well the second turkey crown is in the oven ( I do love my Coop vouchers) sitting on a bed of chopped onions, carrots and lemon slices, the veg are prepped and i think I may head for a bath.
My sole aim today is to enjoy Miranda tonight.....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Thanks Mrs C, for both Valli-related comments especially the sausage hotpot. I am a monkey for buying reduced stuff because it's reduced and then 'thinking' of a 'recipe'. Think the cabbage sounds excelelnt - very European IYSWIM - might fling a bit of Paprika in too, since I still have loads *rubs chin*. Must give it a name...(thus DS feels he is eating 'something' and not one of my thrown together things :rotfl:)Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

That was easy, thanks. Its amazing how much you do in any case. I do like it written down though. :T0 -
It goes by the name of 'Kohlsuppe' or 'Kohleintopf' (literally 'one pot') in my godmother's house, valli. Might impress your DS more than 'cabbage soup'.
I think she adds caraway seeds - my mum would have done.

Happy New Year everybody
Got off to a great start this morning and blitzed downstairs, decluttered kids at lunchtime to meet their friends in town, went to the coast to blow some cobwebs with the dog and did the recycling. I'm thoroughly pooped now, so have just caught up with Christmas Day Downton - what a finale!
