Valli sorry to hear about gerbil.
OH and I have continued decluttering the garage, radio on to bounce away any melancholy - and thanks to those of you who sent hugs my way yesterday. "Horse" cupboard is now the flower arranging cupboard - never realised I had such a collection of wire, vases, ribbons, oasis and all sorts of stuff. OH donated me an old tool box as part of his declutter, and all my smaller bits are now neatly housed, with big stuff on shelves/in boxes. Considering the weather has been so bad we couldn't open the garage door and pile stuff on the drive while clearing, we haven't done badly.

Also sorted out box of wrapping paper into recycle (bin) recycle (use next year) and usable bags.
Just made a lemon pudding as I seem to have a surfeit of lemons, so gradually decluttering the fridge and fruit bowl. Am cooking that in aga with gammon joint and 2 trays of pine cones..........which need drying out before storing in flower cupboard! Anyone would think I made a business of this - I just like doing arrangements that's all.
Didn't get round to hoovering with all the tramping in and out to the garage, but OH swept the kitchen floor.

Still appreciating Christmas decorations as I do love them; couldn't bear to take them down before 12th night!

Have a great New Year everyone, and for those celebrating - have a good time.
Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.
  • Hi, can I join your group please? Not sure I will be able to follow all that's on the lists but I'd like to have a good try. Really need to keep on top of everything so that the house stays tidy. Have taken all he decs down today and they are all boxed in my en suite ready to be put into the loft. Then deep cleaned lounge so it looks lovely now. Kitchen floor hoovered and washed, but with a border collie dog it is a never ending cycle.
Cleaned out wm yesterday as the fabric conditioner wasn't going down. Saw a post re soda crystals to clean it.....how much do you use?
Aim for this week is to sort my bedroom which is always the dumping ground. Then when everywhere is tidy I am hoping it will be easier to stay on top of everything - that's my hope anyway!!

  • Hi there to all fly-ladies and newcomers. Can you believe it's New Year's Eve?!

First if all. ALL my ironing is up to date - did the last couple of things this morning before work. Also, done 2 x WM, S & S kitchen and bathroom and OH has put all the Christmas decs back in the loft. Have done another tidy round so we are not so bad and OH is also cooking our meal tonight, so I will have a night off!! Also, after my marathon bake in the other day, we now have home cooked food until at least Wednesday, will just need to do fresh veg.

New cat has been in and out and out and in, and the floors are muddy again, after me mopping them yesterday, but he is so happy to be out it is worth it!

Good luck to all newbies and a Happy and healthy New Year to everyone. Love R x

Welcome caxmcd2000. It was over five years before I could get rid of the marks my favourite cat left on the skirting board on the stairs when she sunbathed, and only then as part of a Flying list a couple of months ago. She's still missed sniff[

Honey Bear and caxmed, you are both softies! We still have peeling wallpaper in the hall where our beloved Gingy puss had an extra water bowl - he used to flick the water all around. There is no way I'd change it. No other cat uses his blue dish either, there will never be a cat like him - how can a little fur ball touch our hearts so? Bless to the little ratty and gerbil that have just passed on, too. All precious gifts that give us so much joy.

Hiya bonnie, glad to see you missed me :D big hugs back to you!

Well I've done nothing on my list, but have had a talk to the girls so they have been prewarned of the changes ahead.
I will work twice as hard tomorrow just don't feel much like it now. I've had "people" trying to push into my little bubble again today so feeling down again :(
  • Good evening :D

Downstairs toilet & basin S&S, risk assessments nearly done. I suppose I ought to get ready to go out :o

Happy New Year to you all

Some more hugs coming your way. All our beloved friends, whether furry or feathered, or anything in between, become part of the family, and, hopefully, are always remembered. I think it's a measure of a person, not only how they treat, but also how they love their pets, and it's quite heart warming to see so many people on here that talk about their animals with such affection.

Happy New Year and here's to loving memories to share with others. X
