    yes but that link is to a 40 metre cable
    You mean HDMI inputs?
    My TV has multiple HDMI sockets,unfortunately I only use one as everything is piped through the AV amp ;)
    So I need everything running to its solitary HDMI scocket
    Newer/higher spec amps have more though
    Hi, So, like my old coax set up for recorder, I could set up a DVR at No 1 TV in lounge from coax 4 way booster;;;then use 4 way amp hdmi splitter, from dvr, to all 4 other tv,s , only 1 of which is hdmi at present,changing others later on, BUT, still have to have freeview boxes or inbuilt tuners at all other 4 to operate hd channels ?
    like a challenge;;
    Remote switches????cannot find what/where they are?:beer:

    Hi flash, it only says freeview, hd ready 1080, not freeview hd, so I have been misled.
    On the box it says, freeview, buy now, no hd mentioned.
    How can you buy freeview,? the box and manual, all leads one to assume it,s all set up for plug and play hd tv. Is there a seperate tuner available just for HD channels? The picture is great, until my son mentioned his chanels are 101 not 1, for HD, I assumed it was HD.asdas reviews say, happy, easy set up, watching hd, great, no mention of a tuner anywhere on box or manual;;;;

    You just need to buy a Freeview HD tuner.

    One random example here

    Don't bother with a recorder unless you actually want one. This one will give you the freewview HD channels too. Just google 'freeview hd tuner', there are hundreds around.

    remote switches are just hdmi splitters/switches with a remote control.
    nothing special
    what you want is an HDMI splitter to split one signal feed between various outputs
    Im the reverse.my HDMI switch changes sources going to the TV(well amp)

    an example of a splitter

    http://www.tvcables.co.uk/cgi-bin/tvcables/4-port-hdmi-splitter.html?id=n6mC4mTu

    one output to 4 displays
    obviously there are issues and caveats with many set ups but thats the basic idea

    Hi, Just ordered this, but something tells me I,m going to regret it?
    Let you know,reviews bit iffy, but most are;
    This will do Tv 2 in bedroom.
    Still looking at dvr for Tv 1 and HDMI av:beer:

    I don't see why you would regret it. It is a standard freeview HD tuner, there is not much difference between this and any other freeview HD tuner.

    If you look at the 1 star reviews for example, they are all explaining the same issue and if you look at the comments in reply to the reviews, this is actually a user error. The same explanation comes up each time so you can dismiss 99% of those reviews. The remaining one is a complaint that it doesn't support surround sound so again not an issue with the item, more with the user not reading what they are buying. Don't fret over reviews anyway, generally they are irrelevant. It is pretty much like saying 'I'm not watching that movie as the critics say it is rubbish'. It's not relevant whatsoever what other people think of a movie, only you can form an opinion yourself

    the difference between is just noticeable, but not pronounced, and certainly not worth the effort for just the four main channels.

    DVD vs BluRay - again, not pronounced, using the same TV. I haven't compared with identical disc titles, but when watching BluRay, the overall feeling is ... "So? Is that it?" ... and the thought that other titles when viewed from DVD look just as good.

    These are odd comments as Blu-Ray alone is most certainly a huge improvement on DVD quality (regardless of the DVD). I can only assume this is down to your TV if the difference is underwhelming for you.

    I'm with the other guy, I find myself unable to watch a channel in SD if there is a HD alternative. Quite often, my wife watches whichever one she finds first and as soon as I walk in the room, I get it changed over! If nothing else, I am paying for HD so I shall watch it! :rotfl:

    Hi J, that,s the reason I ordered it. I,ve read reviews on umpteen boxes from this thread et.al , and this is the cheapest I,ve come across ,to expensive ones, doing the same job, and reviews are good/bad on all. I did notice that most were rectifiable, if not, it goes back.
    OH is same as yours, I never watch tv, but am finding it hard not to, with these new large screen ones, easily distracted from my books, and want what I thought I had bought, HD freeview TV. As it has ability for I-player ,a bonus too, eliiminating need for dvr, But, Have ordered custards Sony refurb for No 1 tv.good quality first hub, for little more than digi box new;; and togs 7m HDMI cable for tv 2. If that,s ok then will order custard 4 way HDMI av amp for other tvs , yet to be replaced, for use with central dvr, or I-player.and extra 7m hdmi cables.Perhaps Grandson can get them for Nowt, working for SKY.
    The one caveat is that, if anything can go wrong, it will in my house, I have not bought 1 digi box out of maybe 30 over the years that have NOT had to be replaced,even expenxive Sony, nearly all from Argos, no probs changing.
    No matter what I buy, it will nearly always have to go back, I,m lucky, to be Unlucky. That,s why I spent nealy £1k on 3 tv,s that didn,t do what it said on the tin, play HD TV straight from the box;;; all because of 1 word HD FREEVIEW;missing from the umpteen hd ready, full hd, freeview etc on the box, and on the tv on show;;;
    I,ve yet to see what HD looks like on my Tv,s, as only saw it in showroom, magic roundabout blueray loop , hardly good example.As the SD picture is excellent, any improvement will be welcome
    see how it pans out, thanks all for help once again, didn,t realise thread would go on so long, mine always do for some reason.:rotfl::rotfl: must be me;;:beer:

    What about this Tv?

    Were looking for under £400, ideally Samsung to go with the Samsung Av Receiver we have as it uses one remote.

    We dont require a Smart Tv, as we have an Acer R3610 connected via HMDI - LAN - Wireless Keyboard/Mouse etc.

    Ideally 40-43" in size.

    We did look at the 720p 43" Plasma as an option, but the TV above with its Freeview HD seems a good idea, as we may just go with that or FreeSat HD.

    We did think about Sky, but the basic package is no more better than the FreeSat.
