Can't return goods - not asked for.

I have to say I also think it is unreasonable to demand a Sunday. Why can't your partner take the boots to his work to be collected? You don't have a neighbour whom you could ask? Also you don't have a bag that you could put the box in so you could carry it? Why are you carrying your toddler across the roads? That is unsafe, what if you fall, after all you're pregnant. You keep making that point. It seems to me that you've made no reasonable attempt at all except to demand a pick up when you know couriers don't work.
if you had read the whole thread you would have noted that the OP's partner is working in Africa for 6 weeks currently - if she can't get a courier to collect from the UK on a sunday, I think her chances of getting them to collect from Africa are remote
Not everyone has neighbours - not everyone's neighbours are available during the day to wait in for couriers, and couriers CAN and DO work Sundays - especially in the run up to Christmas which this was.0 -
It is clearly a heavy item and it is up to Barratts to sort out a pick up at OPs convenience, not for her to have to carry huge bags around the country - because you can guarantee she won't get as much as a thank you for her troubles...0

How were they delivered?Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -

It's already been answeredI think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0 -
Why do some of you have to interrogate the OP.
We all know that if she was in on a particular day, they will not give her any time slot so why should she bother.
The shops mistake so they should either find a way to sort it, or write them off.
To expect the OP to take them anywhere is beyond belief.0 -
I think you will find under law the OP as done all that is required of her. Id have binned them by now and told Barretts to do one

We still haven't established if anyone has ordered them for the OP.
It is unreasonable to demand a sunday collection. The OP could take them on a saturday morning to a post office.
Give and take comes into it. The OP isn't being flexible at all. I'm sorry but thats what it screams to me.
What " screams" to me is that you are being rather obtuse.
How anyone can say it is unreasonable to expect a particular day for collection when the goods were delivered unsolicited is beyond me.
The question of the OP's flexibility would only be questionable IF she had ordered the goods. She did not (I do not understand why you appear to be having such difficulty grasping that particular fact), so therefore it is an irrelevant point.0 -

So she works 6 days a week ? That is well passed full time.....
Not got any time off over christmas/new year?
How does she manage to go shopping etc?
Who looks after the child while at work?
Childminder? Could item be left there for pick up.
Leave it with a neighbour for pick up....
Absolutely none of that is (a) relevant or (b) any of your business!
If it bothers you that much why not offer to go and collect them from the OP and get them back to Barretts yourself?0 -
I guess you like being rude based on this and the next two posts. What " screams" to me is that you are being rather obtuse.
