You are probably not eating enough food try slimming world or weight watchers properly you will find that you eat loads more than normal. You need to make sure you get plenty of fruit and veggies and limit things like biscuits.0

I am veggie and trying to lose some weight.
Today I have had wholemeal toast (dry) with tomato and mushrooms, coffee with soya milk.
Huge vegetable stir fry with quorn chunks, a shape yoghurt.
Later I shall have fruit, maybe another shape youghurt, If I am hungry I will have Ryvita with cottage cheese.
My weakness is Pepsi max BUT I never have more that 2 in a day, usually one. I also drink a lot of water. Oh I forgot it can get to 3 cups of coffee a day with soya milk. I am trying to get extra protein and am investigating Tofu at the moment.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -

Why don't you google some 1200/1500 calorie vegetarian diet menus? You'd be sure to be getting enough calories and they might give you some ideas for some different meals.
A boiled egg for lunch isn't going to cut it.******** Never be a spectator of unfairness or stupidity *******"Always be calm and polite, and have the materials to make a bomb"0 -

An example of my food intake is: Bran flakes & oat milk. Then a quorn bacon sandwich (usually in 5 grain bread, or a medium bun). For my main meal I kind of alternate between a few things for instance: today I had a quorn mince bolognaise with correct amount of dried spaghetti. I usually have a desert which could be a low fat yoghurt or similar. I generally also include a low fat hot choc drink. That's pretty much it. In fact, I haven't really changed my diet that much to be honest. I was never really big on snacking, so haven't really needed to address that problem. My meal sizes have never been an issue either. .[/QUOTE]
Bran flakes = carbs
Oat milk = carbs
Bread = carbs
Spaghetti = carbs
Low fat yogurt = sugar, likely fructose too = carbs
Low fat choc drink = probably more sugar = carbs
The amount of exercise you're doing is great but if you don't give your body rest periods and if you don't eat protein to repair muscles for example, you're just running down your body down.There's not enough veg in this menu either.
My suggestion is more protein, fewer carbs, more veg. And yes having smaller 'meals' through the day may work better.
And yes fruit is fructose but in natural state it gives fibre and vitamins which fruit juice doesn't to same extent.
Nothing wrong with a hard-boiled egg or two for lunch, if you don't have family history of cholesterol, then eggs will do nothing to up it to serious levels. Plus eggs are packed full of protein and choline and other good stuff.0 -
an eat more diet is not going to make anyone lose more weight.!!

I use oat milk on my cereal because too much milk doesn't agree with me. I can have milk in tea/coffee.
Also, I had baked beans today.
As I'm just getting into this new eating regime, I am still learning what is protein and what isn't.
I can't be expected to know what's what straight away.0 -
Use a website like MyFitnessPal to track your calorie intake per day. You scan barcodes of food you eat using your phone, making it very easy to do. You need to establish your base daily calorie requirement, and then try to drop that by 10% (Calorie deficit). It can be surprising to see how many calories we are actually consuming per day.0

Good luck with the weight loss, I know just how difficult it is.
I have type 2 diabetes which started to get out of control a few years ago, alongside 6 extra stone of weight. I read a mass of information, much of it conflicting. I followed the low carb guidelines on diabetes.co.uk site which worked for me, and took up swimming. I struggled with one length of the pool at first and gradually worked up to 40. I lost 4 stone and my blood sugars were normal
Moral of all this -
Find out what works for you, not everyone is the same
Keep a food diary for a few weeks as it easy to over or under eat without realising
Calculate your BMI (body mass index) as this is a much better indication of how you are doing rather than weight alone. Loads of info on NHS site or just Google it0 -
Agree with the food diary, and well done on the weight loss. BMI, however, is !!!!!!!!!
