Possibly this isn't the best thread to be discussing this if guys are reading but it has to be said!

Oh please! They're happy enough to be there when there's no blood, but squeamish when it comes to a natural biological fact that allows THEM to pass on their genes.

My DH is quite good, although I could do with fewer "Doest thy cup runneth over?" jokey remarks each time I disappear to the bathroom. I think he appreciates the moneysaving and the fact that the ubiquitous boxes of tampax have disappeared!

Even I find it amazing that there are entire sites devoted to showing pictures of all the different ways of folding a cup to insert it - it can make the difference between getting on with one or throwing it away:

Anyway, just glad that they are getting a bit of a following. Now I'll shut up about Mooncups, although I would say this is a prime example of something most women need but not many want (because they don't know about it). Crazy really!

I am a huge fan of my mooncup but I'm not a mummy yet. Find it totally invisible (so to speak) when wearing and don't worry about 8hourly changes so mostly don't have to stress about changing when I'm out. If I do have to I head for disabled toilets or just empty for now and wash it when I'm home. No reported cases of TSS yet as far as I'm aware. Have had the odd month with leakage but I've always got pads/tampons around as backup, still saves me huge amounts of cash. Sadly don't think its something you can try before you buy though!

I did notice that there were none 'used' on Amazon as with most of their other items :rotfl::eek:

I've spent an interesting evening watching YouTube show clips of how to fold them and decided that although it's £14 to buy, it could quite possibly be classed as a necessity. As I said, I've never got on with tampons so was largely confined to pads of varying sorts which as we all know are incredibly uncomfortable - at least the disposable sort. When I went to cloth it was a revelation and I certainly wouldnt consider anything else now, even post partum. In fact, it was the leap to cloth pads which actually convinced me on the merits of cloth nappies. For obvious reasons, it became apparent that if I was as uncomfortable using these wretched paper things for a few days a month, how much more so was a poor baby, confined to nappies 24/7. After that, I researched and bought the very best grades of cotton nappy and fleece liner I could find.

Anyway, I think I will convert once again to these cups when the opportunity presents and see where we go with it. Thank you for your input, its certainly reassured me.

It also gives me a warm fuzzy feeling knowing that I dont have to go to Boots anymore. Yay! I have more beautiful cotton panty liners on order from Etsy and I cant wait for them to arrive.

During a trip to Lidl yesterday I saw they had heart shaped silicone baking trays at around £3....I really wanted to get one for a Valentine's cake but then put it back - it was a want and not a need. I have loads of cake tins and OH won't care what shape the cake is as long as it tastes good!

I treated myself yesterday, I didn't need to, but I hadn't had any for months, so I thought it was time I had some fish and chips from the chippy. Delicious after a 13 mile walk. I was hungry and I could afford it. :D

    Wow, that's impressive!

We had a McDonalds yesterday lunchtime while we were out shopping (monthly massive shop). It was the first one in 3 months, so although a 'want' rather than a 'need', I figured a little break now and again was as good as a feast.
