Don't pick up a basket when you enter the shop & only take £1 in your pocket - you can't buy when you don't have your purse!!
Elly - we're doing our bathroom too & CONGRATS on the new job - wow, amazing saving without even starting
Hopefully my 4th no spend day of the week today (other than a few essential groceries yesterday from the grocery budget rather than my 'miscellaneous personal spends')
My DD is my weakness too - especially eBay clothes for the next size up/season. However, I will not search, watch or buy anything until I've been through her bag upstairs to see what I've already got for this summer & next winter for her :A I know I'd like an all in one rainsuity thing for her, but I probably won't find one cheap enough today (especially if I don't look!)

Actually, I've found that having cash on hand (around £20) for these sorts of miscellaneous emergency grocery spends is an absolutely wonderful way to work. The cards are left at home and all I take is the money I need. When finished, the money goes back in the purse. I can see exactly how much was spent and so, how much of that £20 is left.
I still have a £5 note from January's withdrawal.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Can you make it, repurpose it? Make do with something instead?
I was thinking the other day that I needed a polishing cloth, then one of the kids came home with a school shirt that was covered in glue and paint...

Bit of a result today. Had (v stupidly) forgotten to buy eggs yesterday, but passed a farm today that sold 30 free range eggs for £3. I hope they are OK 'cos we get through a lot of eggs and I actually pass the farm every week. Bought a tray to give them a try."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0

30 for £3, that's a great result. Chances are they just have too many hence the stupid price, not that there is any problem.
So, cake baking this weekend then?Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Me too!
I am having the maddest day....
First I went to a dog training class in a v rural area. Couldn't get there due to flood, so wasted 20 mile return journey (though did pick up my amazing egg bargain on the way home).
Decided to do some batch cooking. Did a ragu sauce for the kids, but decided to try blending it smooth. It looks dreadful (though tastes good) & going to find that a hard sell to DS 2....
Then I started on my fave beef and ale casserole, using my lovely Christmas pressie Le Crueset casserole dish, didn't realise I couldn't use it on the hob for the first bit (STUPIDLY!!!!) and the thing cracked in two, leading to flood of pale ale, sugar and balsamic vinegar all over my job and island.
Had a clean up, put something into the sink of soapy water and managed to cover myself in bubbles!
Honestly, the whole thing was so daft, I just had to laugh!
Now. Do I replace the casserole dish? I have others, but it is gorgeous (square and purple), I love it (as much as you love a bit of crockery) & it was a pressie from my Mum. Don't know if it is still in stock as it was on sale before Christmas, but what do I do??? I really, really want it, but I don't need it......

Personlly I would be inclined to replace it, but maybe after I've saved in a pot for it/buy one on eBay - only because I'dbe devestated I broke a present, but that's just me, lol.

I feel horrible now.
Diet starts tomorrow
1 stone by Easter.
My wife hates me for that - I'll make it because I'll just cut calories, eat exactly 3 meals a day and my treat will be a couple of pints at the weekend. And maybe run a couple of times a week.
Now I NEED to lose weight. I'm doing it a stone at a time.
I WANT to get down to around 12 stone (I'm 6'2).0
