Been missing for a couple of days due to - not sure what!
Anyway declaring 2 nsd as today we have snow! I did set off to work as there was no promised email to say college was closed. Car loaded up with shovel, hot coffee in flask, walking boots, duvet and a fully charged phone - took me 1.5 hours to get 2 miles  Finally get text to say not to come in so turned round and headed for home - thankfully much quicker.
So I am staying put now so will be a nsd.
Keep warm everyone

I have bought an item that I needed which was a very warm coat. (not had one for 2 years...) I needed one that was a little beyond usual warmth as i work in a very cold environment and i go to work at 6am and come back 7pm ish. so unfort i was always going to need to spend some serious money. so i found a brand that was going to meet my needs, been sharking ebay.... found one....and bought it for
£210 inc post packaging !!!!!!!!!!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
okay new they are around 450 quid, but still!
oh well for once at least it was an item i needed. I hope it is money well spent.
i supose i should say there was one in my favourite colour (red) for 275 and i went for this one instead as cheaper. so does that make me good???IF YOU THINK YOU ARE SO CLEVER, THEN WHY ARE'NT YOU RICH?

Sometimes you just have to love yourself!!
Today has been another nsd - however the chilli that is currently simmering is more of a "make do and mend" chilli rather than following the recipe slavishly. The snow has just started again today and is expected to continue all night - in which case I am not expecting to surface tomorrow!!
Question - how does everyone store / keep track of vouchers. When looking in the pocket of a purse (I have moved to a coin purse whilst spending frugally) I came across a £3.50 voucher for Tesco. When tidying a flylady "hotspot" I came across a voucher for the same store for £4. Clearly I have been careless in the past but I wondered how everyone tracks what they have?44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -
Hi everyone
Vouchers - I put them under magnets on my boiler that is in the kitchen so I can see them when doing any shopping lists:)
Well I certainly got my exercise today, I managed to get to work before 6am fine, the roads were snowy but being that early there werent too many people about, anyway about 10.30 the store manager saw me and said I could go as I live a fair way from the store, yeepee!!!! anyway I left my car at work and decided I would use the bus it got about a quarter of the way home and the driver turned to everyone and said the weather was too bad and wasnt going any further:eek:so I had to trek the rest of the way home, it took me hours, I got home made a hot drink sat on the settee and fell asleep, but at least it was a nsd:rotfl:
Anyway tomorrow Im supposed to start at 6am but the buses dont start until 7am (Sat. I suppose) but if the bus doesnt come Im defo NOT trekking into work (its way tooooo far)and a duvet day will be had by me:)
Hope everyone is keeping warm and cosy

Hello!!! :snow_grin :snow_grin :snow_grin
Well - the snow well and truly arrived in Somerset!I woke to about 3 or 4" on the car... Driving to work wasn't too bad... although the car refused to stop at the bottom of our hill which was a bit scary - thankfully no cars going along the joining road!!! Was a bit weird - roads deserted... cars abandoned... very eerie! As Thrifty said earlier - it felt very 'post apocalyptic' - no zombies though!!!
Mancman - you could start a lose x lbs in 12 weeks thread!!! I'll sign up! I could stand to lose at least 1/2 stone... I actually started back at the gym (using a free one at work) although just doing cardio work at the mo. Not sure the shortbread I'm scoffing after is really helping mind...
Yesterday was NSD number 10... Today = NSD number 11
Have a weekend of soup making and homemade veggie chilli... Hopefully meaning I can strike up another few NSDs. Managed some more overtime too!... All in all - a great end to the week!!! Looking forward to a restful few days and some more studying.

OK my NSD became a spend day - I needed milk, and wanted wine (I'm just about to submit my final assignment)...
Got feedback for two this week got 78 / 80 and 68 / 80 (knew that one was going to be tough as it was so short, and being marked by a super picky expert)...
figured I would pick up some fresh fruit, and milk too as well as a few bits that mean I can stay ion all weekend if I need to now...
I'm going to need to be strict for the rest of the month with groceries, but not doing too bad....

Hi all, Glad you are all coping with the snow, for once none here at ground level (Scotland) but plenty as soon as you go up a bit and on the mountains. My NSDs have been very few and far between lately, though the spends have been low and on pretty boring items that I actually need (todays little spend was !!!!! female dog spray of all things) so not too bad. Hoping for a No Spend WeekEnd (NSWE):money: though! Had my *sda delivery and the place is awash with their basic level stuff green and white obliteration! Still cost me £85 and didnt seem to be as much as I thought. I have to admit I did get rid of as much packaging and actually decanted stuff into other containers, not because i'm a snob but it just bugs me and reminds me how skint I am
Hoping if my approved foods box ever gets here it will cheer the cupboards up a bit with some seriously random stuff!:rotfl:Hope you are all upbeat coming into the latter part of the month and not feeling the pinch too much

Ouch! The vet's bill hurt. Signed Tikka up for the vaccinations for life at £95, her vaccination cost £40 and Scrappy was diagnosed with dermatitis and has been prescribed hormone tablets for the next 3 weeks at £40 for tablets and consultation. Luckily he's already on the vaccinations for life package so I didn't need to pay for his booster. £176 in all - EEK!0
