  • evening all!

Abundant - I was going to suggest the Nikwax re-proofing too but others have beaten me to it :D the real enemy rather than the dryer is fabric softener/biological washing powder but even one dose of that won't have hurt it. he might notice if he's caught in a monsoon-like downpour on Everest but I think that's unlikely somehow :D (I used to work in a climbing/skiing shop!)

NSK - glad to hear you weren't caught up in the helicopter accident, didn't realise you worked close to there. Be careful on the bike, brrrrrr! I enjoy riding in the cold in a sick way, but my fingers most certainly do not!

Beckyboo and Mr Boo - so sorry to hear this. Not much anyone can say without resorting to cliches and platitudes, but we are thinking of you and sending you our best wishes and thoughtful thoughts. As others have said, nothing wrong at all with having the right royal hump about it for a good while yet

I've been MIA - struggling a little but under control on the money front. My NSDs are a bit adrift but this is mostly food spending as I am going every couple of days and just spending really carefully and tracking everything.

    Spends this month:

£7.55 to return a wrong mail order size (cheaper to do Special Delivery than pay for normal delivery and extra insurance!)

£7.98 in B&Q for some allen keys to swap my bike/cycle pedals over

    £6 on some tights (essential!)

£9.20 on coffee/hot chocs at college.... grumpy about this

£21.48 on wine etc for home .... also grumpy about this but had some shocking things going on so have been self-medicating a bit. No more to be spent this month.

£58.27 on diesel... not a normal spend, should be half this if not less

£58.27 food budget including £8-odd on yellow stickers on NYE - total budget £80, so this is well under control

£15.09 on dog food - same again required in a week's time but that's it.

Other news - ran my first 10 miles-in-one-go on Sunday. Knackering but was sooooo chuffed when I got back!

I've signed up for a 4-week cycle training thing through my triathlon club which will cost me £16 (for the 4 weeks) and a bit of fuel to get there.

I am REALLY hoping the snow holds off to let me squeeze a date in on Saturday. He seems lovely and I'm hoping we can meet up soon.

    See you all soon X

Hi everyone gosh everyone has been having an eventful day! NSK good luck on the bike and pleased you were not near the chopper, looked terrifying.
Another NSD today as working and had packed lunch as planned. Do not like the WW pittas even though they were half price, tasted like cardboard. Have now lost 14Ibs and can fit in old jeans, think will be 'shopping' the wardrobe at the weekend.
Mancman - hope you win the comp and if not there seems to be lots of gym free pass day offers around at the moment?
Really hoping that the snow holds off for the weekend as my car hates the snow and all the big hills to get to work!

    night peeps keep snuggly x

  • Well I got home in one piece.. FREEZING my bits off. Apparently -4.5 here in HERTS! Never had fingers this cold before and it was so painful. Having dilemmas about "safety versus not enough money for train tickets".. so will see what the weather is like tomorrow before making decisions. Don't like it this cold. my visor steams up and never clears properly. Never fun at night. Overtime again on Sunday.. cause I don't need a life.. just hope the snow doesn't stop me!!!

I am off to bed.. safe in the knowledge the washing machine is now working... one load in the dryer and another on the go ready to be done tomorrow morning... and another load of muffins!

    Hugs to all..

    Onwards and Upwards!

Thanks:-) I already have gym membership this is just an additional thing that one of the personal trainers is running to try and give his business some extra publicity.
Chin up NSK - its freezing here to - we got -8 last night. From what you said in an earlier post about drivers being more careful to motorcyclists i.e turning full beam off etc, I feel that I am not only getting better with money, getting on the fitness train but also being a better driver - thanks for the little road safety lesson about motorcyclists - you dont realise some of these things until someone tells you.
  • Morning all!

Sorry I've not been very here the last few days, it's been manic!

So to catch up, no spends to report Yay! (apart from Birthday boy's cash today) And we're round someones for dinner tonight. Happy days. Managed to chip a little .5% off the debt this week. Also found a big item to sell on ebay, hoping for about £200.00 to add to the total. Would be amazing!

Keep re doing and re doing my spreadsheets. DFD date keeps changing. Still happy with a projected date of end of July, but if we keep managing like this (I'm not sure how long we will....) It could be as early as May or June. My fingers are crossed :D

    :j Happy Thursday!! :j

NSD yesterday as had a migraine so no climbing for meee, turns out my friend fell asleep anyway and called me 50mins into what would have been yoga to tell me so and apologise...that'll be why I couldn't get a hold of her then.
Right, must do my flylady tasks, yesterday I spent 15mins decluttering my socks & pants drawer, it was very therapeutic :)

Hi everyone, nsd today, but I had a spending day yesterday, needed some necessary food, and bought some wool to start knitting some baby cardies for my yet to be born grandchild (no 3:))

It is so cold here today and tomorrow I have to go back to work, so I must get my self into gear and get some lunches put up - Im working all over the weekend again, but not any overtime this week, just normal hours:(

Anyway nothing to report just plodding away, checked my OD and it looks very bad, but I have just paid out the water bill, so I will have to transfer the money over from another Bank acc and then it will look better, got to get RFL before the end of the month, so Im hoping I have enough saved for that as well, anyway thats for tomorrow after work or it would involve a special journey.

The gritters have just come up the hill, I hope that doesnt mean its going to get a lot worse, its the first ever time I have seen them up here as its a close not a through road.

    Jxx
