Beckyboo - better people than me will give you sound advice but massive hugs xx I really hope that, in the fullness of tim, you'll be able to look back and see this as some form of positive move - can't see it at the moment I quite agree.

when someone gets such a set back it seems trivial to carp on about spending and ebay etc but its these sort of things that keeps my head above water. I was aiming for a proper NSD today but got sidetracked into "needing" some toffees (£1.40 spent but enjoyed!) I'm not sure if I am cheating but I have added it to my groceries bill and will claim it as a NSD since its food (hmmmm:cool:).

I am now beginning to reap the rewards of my spreadsheet. As next months CC bills come in so its becoming evident that I may have a little more funds than I thought. At one point I was on gas and air for food and petrol next month. Currently it could be as high as £100 - what luxuries!! Payday is 23rd so I will be able to see better then what I am able to send towards debt 1 repayment.

Love to everyone - tonight I'll try and list some more on ebay - they will only be 99p items but it helps to declutter as well! xx
    44 day challenge

Beckyboo - so sorry to hear that. Spend today moping about it, you're allowed some time to cry, and then tomorrow start the day off as positively as you both can and set about finding Hubby a job and sorting out your finances to hopefully make you feel a bit more financially secure. I hope something comes along for him quickly.

nimbo - maybe you should wear gloves in bed :) Honestly Hubby and gooooogle don't mix, he just a picture come up and said that's it!

Another frugal day here - I did have to pick up a cucumber, some tomatoes and bananas for lunch but otherwise no money spent.
I did my banking and with another week of frugaldom we'll get to the end of the month without crashing too much into the red, something that I didn't think possible.
Next month will still be very tight as there's a big VISA bill to go out from next pay packet but this challenge has been really good for getting us back on track.
    Trying to keep in budget.

Does food that's budgeted for and transport (petrol/buses) not count towards an NSD? If so, that means I can claim some more!! Think I've been doing this wrong!

Sorry Beckyboo, bad news but like suggested, allow yourself today to take it in and tomorrow, try to focus on what you can do. Take care.

 So sorry Beckyboo about the redundancy, hoping that Mr Boo finds a good job soon. Nows the time to stick together as a family and support each other, something will turn up just try and keep proactive. Try and think outside the box for a solution, sometimes things that appear bad happen for a reason and its usually because you have initiated change and things eventually turn out better. Stay positive
  • So sorry Beckyboo about your news, I hope something comes up very soon for you. Big hugs xxxx

Today wasnt a NSD as met a friend for C*s*a today but that money has come out of my going out fund and was pre empted as we normally do this a few times a month.

Took back my broken paper shredder and was refunded £17 and then bought a new one in a different shop for only £15, So I'm up £2:p. Also posted my fleaby bits but thats already paid for by the buyer. So wasnt too bad of a day.

    He Everyone...

First off - will add my :grouphug: into the mix for Beckyboo & Hubby

I think having a good cry is ok - this is big stuff - life changing - and it's your body's way of helping you cope with letting out all that stress, tension and worry... I echoe what other people have said - pull together and talk and when you're feeling low - look at what you do have... an amazing hubby... gorgeous twins... warmth... food... a roof over you... Sometimes when I do that I realise that even though money may be tight - and the future uncertain... if you can keep those things - that's really all you need (lots of hugs too of course!)...

Have been wracking my brains and like Kerry I thought night shift work... I hadn't realised (not having children) how expensive child care could be... Would it be feasible financially for hubby to take over child care for the kids (thus saving that money) for now and becoming a house hubby... just to give you breathing space whilst you look for the right job... and maybe working weekends (or whenever it is you are not at work) just to bring in some extra...? Any family live nearby that could help with child care for a few weeks here and there?

I am a firm believer that *everything* happens for a reason - even if at the time we cannot see what that reason is... It could be like others have said - that this inadvertently leads on to something better... I would just give hubby lots of support. We have had redundancies and they let lots of *good* people go... He's just not got to take this to heart and feel it was something he did/didn't do. When one door closes - another one always opens... Sending you both lots of love xxx

    :grouphug:
I was meant to be on NSD street for like *forever* and I went and forgot my packed lunch and so had to visit the canteen as was on a long day at work... BAAAAAAAAGH. Still - I have to look after myself and I decided I need to eat - end of. As I never got chance to buy my fruit/fresh veg in yesterday I thought I'd make most use of my slip up, and so stocked up after work!!!

I re-read our rules and realised I can have additional 5 days for re-fueling and buying food... so whilst am counting today as a spend day as it was my own fault I forgot lunch... I can breathe a little easier about the rest of January as I thought I'd run out of spend days totally if I was to meet my 25 target - and was going to have to live on dust come the last week of the month! Though my spends budget was well and truly blown - I have a separate one for essentials (food and fuel) and am still on target with those... although if I can save where possible - it will help to off set my humongous other over spend a little.

So... am *still* sitting at NSD number 8 for now.

    :D

  • Im with Abundant here, on the things happen for a reason front and truly believe something is round the corner for Mr Boo. Sending big hugs.xx

Was having a mare earlier (albeit very minor in comparison to the boo's). Realised we were down to the last nappy. DD2 only has 1 at night now but i didn't want to lose my NSD and it isn't payday till Friday. I have 10 pounds sat in a jar but i sooo didn't want to crack into it. Went to put washing away and found 4 pullups stashed in wardrobe.....Phew!!!
Must be a good day today. My friend made a big banana and chocolate loaf for me.......which is playing havoc with diet and my best friend gave me a carrier bag full of crisps cos her inlaws had given her a load. So in times of stress we can snack!!

Still have the urge for a fag .......cracked and had 1 on Saturday night. But only 1 so Im feeling good.
