Today won't be a NSD after all. Decided that we wouldn't have time to go shopping tomorrow night before/after the vets and the kitties don't have enough food to last til Saturday. I don't even have a cheap tin of tuna in to treat them with after their trip to the vets.

Shopping list doesn't look much though, mostly catfood and fresh food so should be a cheap visit.
  • Hello Everybody.....

NSD planned for me as was yesterday so haven't marked them up yet. Forgot my work trousers so plodding around in my biking ones. :rotfl:...at least I won't freeze in our normally cold office! I made it in today with two pairs of gloves so tight the circulation nearly stopped but I was happier that I have staved off the onslaught of frostbite... 7 layers on my upper body and still the cold got through - might place a newspaper across my chest ( have heard a great m/bike racer used to do this and put plastic bags on his feet:T)... and waterproof fleece lined troosers over my legs and usual combo... so no complaint so far. However I might get the train tomorrow due to the possible "blizzard"..:p..although I have more inclination to stay in bed...:T:T:T

Washing machine fixed and laundry room run aborted. Two loads on last night, one on this morning and another two to go at least... late finish tonight so I shouldn't have anything to spend or need to...I think I am back on the ball with things having been super depressed over how much my food budget has increased..

MancMan thank you for being a great driver! Last night I was heading home around 2200... my visor wouldn't defog properly so I was having to wipe it every 30 seconds or so.. still cars wouldn't dim their lights and would crawl right up behind me despite it being obvious that no one in their right mind would speed in these conditions and ultimately take things a LOT slower....hummmmph! However for every bike ride I do i save £19 on the train..:D..Can't believe it was -8 with you....blizzard tomorrow me thinks!!! :(.. hope that Specials fitness training is still going!!

Kerri - sock and pants drawer for me on Friday Night. Who says you need to go out to have fun....:rotfl:

Abundant - SO glad you worked out the Nikwax thing and ran the manufacturers! Genius you are!

Mayfair - finger crossed for the £200 ebay amount! Be confident!

Oh botheration - I have to get to work... will check in again tonight if i can!!

    Keep up the good work!!!

    Onwards and Upwards!!

NSK - yea it was pretty cold , last night had to turn the heating up and sat at home with a tshirt, long sleeved top, hoody and wooly hat on - still wasnt warm. Its just beginning to snow here again now - i think this is the pre blizzard that is expected tomorrow!
Yea keeping up with the fitness training. Although I did fail my medical on tuesday :( but ive been given a review date to lose 12lbs and if I can do that within 6 weeks then i will be put through to the next stage. Its just a setback, I have the motivation in place to do it.
Specials = no pay, but great experiance, Police = £19000 start salary with a rewarding career.
Im hoping to get snowed in tomorrow. Doubtful though!

NSD14 here. It's bitterly cold here too and it's supposed to start snowing heavily tomorrow. We were meant to visit friends up north over the weekend but not sure if I fancy the death trap A9 in those conditions.:(

Still not managed to take pictures of ebay things, but free listing is a while away yet. But managed not to watch telly the last three nights and got stuff done, like new flooring in the bathroom etc. That plus 3 lunch time exercise classes this week and I'll be floored tonight.

The past few nights it's felt that cold I've gone to bed fully colthed in socks, jogging bottoms, t-shirt, fleecy jumper and gloves! Hubby cocoons himself in the duvet but I'm more of a hang-out-of-bed person and I've been waking up cold in hte middle of the night. The thermostat is set for 13C during the night and it actually fired up for a while last night. I thought it was almost time to get up :rotfl: Depending which forecast you watch/read we could anything from no snow to 15cms tomorrow. I'm hoping to be snowed in :D

Mancman - perservere and you'll lose that weight, at least you have a motive and a deadline to help you along.

What counts as snowed in (is there an official description). In my old work I couldn't say I was snowed in because I could walk the 2 mi in. That was two winters ago when even the roads didn't get cleared anymore and everyone walked in the middle of a once busy road (rather post-apocalyptic ;). People that lived just a bit further and relied on car or public transport got free snow days off :(

    I know what you mean!!!!!!!!

Today is, hopefully , another NSD. Its sw tonight and I have prepaid - just need to avoid the distraction of buying a weighin treat! I have just pulled some bacon out of the freezer to add to a pasta bake for tea so will hopefully avoid temptation. I also had a ouple of ebay wins - nothing expnsive - just a 99p and £6.50 but edging ever nearer to the target!

Saved more money by making a couple of cards last night from free fabric samples and buttons from the box - that handmade look for no cost.

Keep warm everyone and keep up the encouragement - I so need it.
    44 day challenge

    1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
    2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
    3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)

If my cats ALL refuse to go out in the morning and are queueing up to use the litter tray, I'd consider myself snowed in as 2 refuse to use the litter tray apart from in extreme circumstances :rotfl:

I'm not sure if there's an official description. It's unlikely I'd get snowed in to the point where I couldn't get anyway as I live just off a road with a chemist/drs and c0-0p which is just off the busy A-road and only way out of my town so they're gritted frequently.
  • Another NSD yesterday for me, but not today: I'm going to top up my pre-paid card for the London bus (covered by my transport budget) and picking up a few household bits from the pound store while I'm in town.

Also first ebay sale. I put 21 items on on the weekend, and I have a few watchers but this is the first bid. Only £4.99 but better than nothing :T
