Morning everyone. Had such a manic day yesterday that didn't get to check in - hence my appearance here this morning. Have now clocked up NSD 8 so feeling really proud of myself. Also lost 1 and a half lbs at SW last night, making 3 since Xmas - slow going I know but I am a bit of a slow burner since I had the twins!
No planned spending over the weekend - just getting a bit worried I might run out of the boys milk:o
Hubby will find out about his redundancy situation on Tuesday - going to be a VERY long weekend

eeeee, thats a lot for the c-section, are bulldogs unable to give birth naturally, I know some types have to use AI to conceive? My family heritage was in breeding british bulldogs, (in the 1940s/50s) but i'm (obviously) a poodle girl now!:D0

morning all
hugs to searching me.
poodlegal- have you thought about baking the camembert whole so it melts to make a kind of fondue dip and have things to dip in like breadsticks?
Spent £60 on groceries yesterday, quite impressed with that for us and that included £7 at the butchers on a beef brisket which should make 2 roast meals and butties for a week for HubbyI'll freeze it in portions when it's cooked.
Hubby's got little sis coming over to watch foty tonight so going to batch cook and portion up everything tonight.
No plans for the weekend apart from free badminton at the gym so should be a NS weekend0 -
Morning all!
Strange things are afoot in our house. It seems that now we've started clearing everything, additional lending options are opening up. One of my CC's have just upped the limit by £1000.00. I would only ever used this in dire dire emergencies as it's stupidly high APR. On top of that my bank have just given me a £2000.00 over draft facility on my account, having never had one before.
Now, riddle me this batman.....
The OD is charged at £1 a day, up to a maximum of £20.00 a month.
The CC that we have the big balance on is 18.9% APR.
We have a balance of £39andsomething on the CC.
With regards to interest charges, would I be saving anything if I used the OD to clear 2000 off of the CC?
The interest made me sad this month on the CC. A whole weeks payment gone, and not even on debt just on the interest. Getting into an overdraft is not something that I am desperate to do, but if it's going to work out cheaper interest wise to do it would it make sense? Can someone with a maths head be able to work this out for me? I don't even know where to start....:o
So another NSD yesterday and today definitely will be too. Another quiet weekend of training and food coming up. I'm going to need to go to the shops and some point and get some meat as we're out. And running 13.3 miles on a freezer/cupboard diet is killing the backside off of me. Also should have a couple of quid coming in tomorrow to add to the pot. Happy third of the way through ladies and gents!
Just want to say, and I know others have, but you lot are amazing. Checking in here and seeing the highs and lows has produced a money revelation for me this moth. I love it. I love the support. I love having somewhere to rant. I love that it's not just me that slips up. I love the hope that this is giving us and the determination to tackle it. I love the fact that I'm not alone. I love the positivity. And I love the fact that we CAN all do this.
Wow... that's a lot of Friday love. :j0 -
How much interest are you paying each month on your credit card mayfair? In theory, if it's more than £40 then it may be cheaper to shift £2k of it to your overdraft and work at paying the rest off, keeping the £2k overdraft until the credit card is fully paid off. Then, since it costs £20 each month regardless of whether you use £1 or £2000 of your overdraft, it might make sense to shift it back to the credit card (depending on the figures) or trying to get another credit card with 0% interest (actually, if you're able to get credit, is it an option to look for a 0% card to shift as much as you can on to? Or is that all a bit much to think about at the moment?). Just thinking off the top of my head, I'm sure someone else would be able to analyse the figures better.
Did someone mention slip ups? After 2 days without sugar and a forgotten packed lunch, I caved yesterday and bought a massive, ultra yummy cookie and coffee mid afternoon. It was a day of extra earning so I'll count it as one of my ...I forget what we called those special days when you spend money on food less than £5 if we can offset it with making money elsewhere? Anyway, it was one of thoseIt was ultra delicious and I can't say I feel bad about it! It was only a few pounds (which I took from my emergencies purse
)and I really really enjoyed it!
Today will be a spendy day as I have a friend coming to stay tonightand I'm going to make pasta with tomato sauce (we can talk and talk and talk, if I make a complicated meal it'll either burn or we'll talk so much it'll never get started!). I have loads of tomatoes and garlic and olive oil - but no pasta! Detour to the supermarket will sort that and may add £1 or so to my overall food spends for the month.
A little Quidco payout today has boosted my earnings
Oh, and thanks for the tip about bicarbonate of soda cleaning my flask - it seams to have done the trick. I have a flask of hot water and lemon which I'll sample soon so I'll keep you posted!
So far....

Good Morning all. Everyone is doing so well despite little slip ups which are inevitable - like the bag of McKoys my colleague just gave me!
... I am pretty manic here at work but aiming for another NSD. Although I don't think I have brought enough food with me ( am here until 1930 ) I will prevail.
Saw a friend yesterday in town that I haven't seen in yonks.. spent £1.40 on a bottle of fizzy water from Costa ( gutted!!! ) but was aiming for no sugar and couldn't stomach another herbal tea. Nice catch up but could have done without it... got home late and was stuck outside my house for 40 minutes as the new keys I have cut don't work...GRR!..just wanted a bath and an MSE catch up. Managed to get in and washed and straight to bed....
Snow predicted down here in London at the weekend which might put an end to my overtime.. will be planning to hit all the known points websties, including Nectar.. letting it slip too much really..
Ebay item that was bid on has 3 watchers now and ends tomorrow. Fingers crossed for more than the £15 bid - i have a holiday to pay for!
eeeeeee - So sorry to here about your doggy bills. Are you able to re-gain the money from puppy sales? And dinner sounds lush..;-).. I was living on packet pasta for a good while until my cupboards were empty and Abundant had three months on the rice cakes...:rotfl:..( well done by the way Abundant )..
Siouxsie - the sugar free thing is just my bag. It ain't on the rules - you're allowed to scoff cookies!! You really sound like you enjoyed it!! Your evening sounds lovely as well.. and pasta is what I love over a good natter! .. and I know what you mean about burning things! :rotfl:
Mayfair - I like Siouxsie suggestion of a 0% CC. Have you looked into this?
I know I have so much to catch up on but I shall have to sign off until tonight.. ..Keep fighting the good fight... earning NSD's... remembering that you have support and so many of us in the same situation...
