Right then.. actual time to myself. In my own house. In my pyjamas!!!
I am going to plow through the posts and reply as necessary - also take this opportunity to say SORRRRRRRRRY to the chickadees that might seem neglected by Mamma Puddy Kat.... I am HERE!
Right then - what progress I see before my eyes! I am so proud of you all.. smuggling treats into the cinema.. avoiding shops...cancelling nights out... getting promotions.. eating all your rice cakes... graduating to a title of "tight" from your OH:rotfl:... considering moving in with parents now that you have to move.. shifting money about... it's amazing!!!
Poodlegal - most importantly what have you done with that Camembert... ( oven melted with crusty bread)..and boo hiss on those bike repairs!!..
KarmaChiLoveThing - you gonna get yourself on Youtube and watch some videos about punctures and make those new ones last even longer... that'll make Mamma NSK extra happy! ..:rotfl:
Siouxsie - I am on a night shift tonight as well. PRAYING it doesn't snow as I can't afford to miss it. Will be back in tomorrow on a quick change over so really don't want to miss out. Am concocting treats to bring with me as well as I get an attack of the nibbles around 0300!!! Maybe I should bring a trash book of sorts to occupy myself...
Fairy3 - your weight loss is great. Must be because you are thinking more about what you are eating do you think? My breakfast is now well planned out and lunch as well so I am barely hungry at dinner time... how is the "shop" plan coming along?..
Gien - where are you? I keep seeing mentions of Euro's and Fanc's.. your not in France are you??..
Kerri - how much lemon in that rice? I am on only brown rice now and it always needs something to perk it up?.. and I would love to see you in a yoga pose glued to a climbing wall like spider-man....
Kerfuffle I like your list including a "pre-planned treat" .. may I ask what it might be? I wonder how many others have something planned in their budget to alleviate the boredom of all these NSD's and weird food concoctions etc.. and you best staying in this weekend - its VERY COLD out there!:)
BeckyBoo - we are all thinking about you for Tuesday. I do believe though we are all on a path that will lead us to greatness should we trust it. Your OH might have something up his sleeve for work that he would never want to try in case it jeopardises his current full time guaranteed wage.... it might be his chance if he is made redundant. If he is successful and keeps his job he might be in for a great leadership role within his current employment... I think you will be fine whatever the outcome. We are here to congratulate or commiserate where necessary...
Mayfair have you made any decisions about your money switching?
NannyGladys - you with the heating off cracks me up. Your are a proper hardcore MSE NSK money-saving kitten!!! I am doing the same although it ain't really my house so I could put it on if I wanted too. I have on two fleeces over my Pj's with my hood up!! It's great being this snuggly...
IWillSuceed - are you hibernating?? When you come out for 15 minutes do you stuff your cheeks full of peanuts?.. How on earth have you managed 11 NSD's in a ROW! This is amazing stuff.. if you hit 31 I wouldn't be surprised!!!:rotfl:.. limiting yourself is not a bad ides.. it's addictive being on here!!!
His-Missus....ooooh that CC bill is BEING SMASHED UP!! How does it feel eh?? Getting rid of that debt has got to feel amazing! You are doing SO well!..Keep it up..sell everything..pay it off and laugh with glee when you do!!! :T
Abundant put those Heroes down please!! You are not doing your brain cells any good by ingesting that amount of sugar...( NSK Mamma Kat rant complete )... I was at church today, during the interval I swear the biscuits were calling to me.. especially the bourbon creams!! HHHHmmmmmmmmmmm! But I resisted!!.:p
Ninno and Nannell you are both doing so well with your MSE heads screwed right on! Superb!!!
It must be said I think there are some new habits being formed here. That was my devious plan. I would long to buy new clothes and boots for the winter months but I know full well I would feel just plain guilty about it!
This week has been so busy, so tiring and just plain freezing coming home. It takes ten minutes to defrost my fingers when I manage to open the front door...yet not being on here doesn't mean I am not thinking about it.. how everything I spend I just KNOW has to be confessed to you all... that I feel guilty for spending SO Much money on food for myself but realise that my health is the most important thing.
Being sugar free so far and being a little more healthy in the long run will I hope enable me to push myself harder and faster in the coming months. Our challenge will change like the tide, things leave and we conquer only to be faced with something new..
But optimism, confidence in our new found control and really and truly looking towards our ultimate goal of debt freedom will enable us to dig deep to the barbarian within and never give up!!!
I say this now with truth and conviction we are heading Onwards and Upwards!!!!“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent".0 -
Greetings, January Freezers!
Not checked in for a couple of days.....v busy at work handing over, to start my temp promotion........which will hopefully bring in an additional £300 for 3 months (and hopefully will go on longer)........this will make a real difference.
Lovely to read all you posts, there is lots of positive stuff there.
My only spends has been food, but some of it is naughty food such as sandwiches from the shop when I am supposed to be taking lunches to work......I've taken it out of my food budget, but the budget won't last if I do this too often!
I found a gift card with £5 on it!
I have a Waitrose 'My Waitrose' card, it is a bit like a points card.......it entitles you to one free hot drink everyday!:T
It costs nothing to get one, just don't get carried away in the store!
Anyway I must get some batch cooking done!

but also lots of opportunity for boredom/comfort eating! I am prepared though and have a Quorn sausage and chickpea casserole defrosting to eat before I go
Hello! Have you got a recipe for this?0 -
Oompa_Loompa wrote: »Hello! Have you got a recipe for this?
2 packets of Quorn Sausages (which are on offer for £1 each in A$da just now)
1 onion
4 cloves of garlic
2 tins of tomatoes
1 tin of chickpeas
5 or 6 handfuls of kale
4ish tablespoons of yoghurt (works just as well with soy yoghurt)
Three easy steps:
1. Throw the chopped sausages, onion and garlic into a big pot. Cover and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally
2. Add the tomatoes and chickpeas. Cover again and cook for another 15 minutes.
3. Stir in the kale and yoghurt and cook for another 15 minutes - this time I leave the lid off but I can't remember why!
Easy peasy and super yummy! This makes 4 portions - one for me and three for the freezer for days like today!0 -
Kerfuffle- well done, yeah i am going to do that as of april as i will be able to set aside sums to pay for things in cash. unfort my car insurance is in march and i am trying to build up my cash flow till then. have very expensive things going on at the moment and i cant tell how much it will cost.
becky- try and enjoy your weekend, the decision is not in your hands but your spending is, so try make some positive steps there.

unfort i have another dentist appointment on tuesday, need a second opinion because i am going to need to spend some serious money sorting out 1 tooth. i think this is money well spent, although i will need it done, surely it is best to pay and get a second opinion?

1 cup rice, 2 cups water boiled from kettle, put in as large a pan as you can that has a lid, bring to boil, slice lemon in half place lemon in the middle sliced side down, put lid on, leave until you hear no more bubbling, serve with the veg you cleverly steamed over the top 5 mins after you put the lid on ( we have a hob steamer instead of electric).
The receipe was given to me by someone else on these forums so I can't take the credit, but it is LUSH!I have a Waitrose 'My Waitrose' card, it is a bit like a points card.......it entitles you to one free hot drink everyday!:T

Evening all!
Had a meaty shop as asda today, they were getting rid of the christmas wrapping paper, 10p a roll, stocked up for next year! (well, next 4 years... lol)
Spent a little and earnt a little today, all spends essential, should have another week of NSD's now. Bit worried about the targets. I think my planneds are going to go over... got a birthday presents that I was gonna get off of amazon as I have vouchers, but birthday boy changed his mind and wants cash instead now... oh declared that he's arranged a cinema trip next week and needs a tenner... ever feel like you're fighting a losing battle?
Thank you all for the number crunching. I have decided to leave it where it is for the moment. It's a few quid a month more, but for my sanity i think it will be easier to leave it there. I'm not very good with numbers and I think that having a negative balance on my current account every time I look may put me in a negative mind frame IYSWIM!
Right, i'm off to veg out for the evening infront of the telly box ready for a big training day tomorrow. Be good everyone0 -
