Was sooooooo tempted to go to John Lewis this pm - had an unexpected free afternoon. Fancied looking at the knitting wool.... BUT I DIDN"T!!!! So another NSD notched up. Thanks to you all and amazing motivation on here.

I looked at some clothes at lunchtime.......but decided the £100 (whilst being a bargain reduced from £250) was better in my bank account rather than on clothes that I don't actually need.

Some impressive will power going on!! Brilliant! I'm almost scared to spend anything (other than essentials) cos I feel once I start I wont stop!! So I don't allow myself to :D:D

  • Good Evening one and all.. I thought it best to update and chat to you all at work as the computer screen is bigger than my net-book at home, I won't get in until 8pm and I think the landlady's washing machine is fixed so I have a MOUNTAIN of clothes to wash as I am a skin flint and refused to go to the laundrette... I have been doing smalls in the shower :p...AND I am up at 0500 again tomorrow and need to pack my bag etc...

On a plus I have two overtime shifts at the weekend. A night shift on Saturday and a quick snooze then back in for a late afternoon shift on Sunday. totaling 15 hours on Sunday @ double time. Might just be a wreck by the end of it though...needs must :(

Marylea - good luck for tomorrow's interview. Actually I love your whole post, planning food, refusing clothes and gearing up for more work. My kinda gal!:T

Polly - so sorry your day has been one brake down after another. These little challenges are sent to try us and you seem to have over-come already due to eBay sales... there is the 7 P's... really hope the washing machine is CHEAP to fix. And you are exercising and saving public transport/petrol money so the tyre will earn itself I am sure...Hugs for you!

Ninno - 7 NSD's?? On a ROLL! I know what you mean about not wanting to break the string - but you will have to fork out at some point and find yourself being SUPER ruthless!

Thrifty a subsidized gym that your friends are already at will make things easier - go for it! I am jealous - still looking around my area for something cheap and cheerful!

DebtFreedomyear - I know how difficult it is to walk around John Lewis and not get anything. Safer to stay out completely. Too much cutsey vintage cookware ... then I love getting stockings in there.... and I love all the Fiorelli handbags... see better just staying out...:p What do you knit?...

Everhopeful - are you looking for a full time job or a part-time?

MumsieMum - that contract is amazing? Who are you with... shame to say I signed with O2 back in the "days before MSE" and my total bill each month is about £50...( please don't shout at me ) .. and I can't get out of it for another year at least. It is my one luxury though as I need internet wherever I go....boo hiss!

Kerri - well done on SB cash out - not cheating. :T..still cannot get my head around it.. I need a day to just sit and tackle it whilst watching a movie... really just have a go on everything I can.. how long did it take to get £5 together??

Oompa Loompa - you too on SB?? how long did £50 take to get together..? I am SO jealous of this.. I swear I am going to have to put aside time each few days to do this. A day like today it would be impossible...

All you Runners are making me jealous too. I used to love it. Gonna get me some new lights on my push bike some day and whizz around the streets scaring the local wildlife instead. Sill NSK knees not up to scratch...hummmph ..:p:p:p

Poodlegal - you sure you aren't a poodle with 4 paw-power. Explain an ultra marathon - is that over hill over dale in sweltering heat in the Gobi desert or across the moors?... I have seen programs about this and just wish in my little heart I was that tough!! i have so much determination but not enough time to channel it into a full on sport - hmmmmm maybe I should make time..??

His_Missus - know what you mean about those Graze boxes.. so cool but so expensive and not quite big enough. H&b are the way to go... I am awaiting another 1p sale..Excellent news on the money side of things... really hope that pans out well for you!!!

Right I am off home. Wish me luck with my mountains of knickers. NSd for me thank goodness.. although my food budget is BAD!... don't really need anything else right now.. so might just string what I have in my fridge until Feb now..(yeah right!)....

Hugs to all the non-smokers..... great challenge, your little lungs will thank you ... keep up the good work all!

    Onward and Upwards!!!

I haven't caught up on all the posts as I am trying to get a uni assignmetn sorted - however NSD today, and NSD yesterday apart from train faire (I did pay 30p to use the toilets at the train station - however If I hadn't I would have had to either buy clothes for the interview or would have got arrested for peeing in public so money well spent)...

will update my signature ASAP, and keep it up...

will catch up tomorrow hopefully - but trying not to be too distracted from the essay as it's sue on Friday...

  • Evening all,
Thank you sooooo much for all your kind wishes and positive thoughts. Hubby has been told he will be marked against the two other designers on a redundancy matrix to decide who gets the one job. Find out the results next Wednesday. Just absolutely pants :(.
Checking in with NSD 6. Plan is no more spending till next Monday now. Both cars are fueled up and have plenty of food in the house. Only the unexpected emergencies that could trip me up now but I shall fight them!!!

I'm with TM but having reviewed by useage over the 24 month contract I realised I could manage with much less. I'm one of those people who uses the mobile for calls and texts, I was using much less than I was being charged for and was paying for all kinds of add ons I don't need Internet, BBM etc. Feel really chuffed now.

Good luck with the knicker mountain!! :rotfl:

Hi everyone, another nsd to report.

Havent done much today, went for a blood test at the local hospital, cleaned Rosie gp out and gave her so much hay I think she'll get plenty of exercise climbing the mountain to snug down to sleep:rotfl:well they do reckon its going to get colder:(

Anyway thats it really, going to house clean and do some washing tomorrow and then back at work Thurs for the whole weekend and beyond:(

Well done on the overtime Kat!! I got my first £5 voucher at the end of Nov, have just got another this month (so, 6 weeks later!) I use it like you would for Google - doing searches all the time, so that is something we could all do! Also, the N*SO and daily p*ll. With the thing I described today, I'm almost at another one! So that's almost £15!! I'm sure there are ways to get more but the surveys are annoying because I get disqualified! Maybe the SB thread would have some good suggestions!
