I received my current bill today online. I notice the ETF was still on the bill, even though I called T-Mobile yesterday. I telephoned this company again. I was advised a note was on my account to wave the ETF, but it was not not carried out by the advisor because the bill was not generated yesterday (I only received the bill amount yesterday). Told this charghe had now been waved, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I am sure there will be more drama regarding charges once my pac code is used in a few weeks time!!Trinidad - I have a number of needs. yeah, found out yesterday argos do not unlock there handsets. I telephoned back again T-Mobile, on this occasion I am told the company can unlock providing I have had the handset for a certain time period, I said I did, but on checking my receipt afterwards, I don't think I can fulfil there criteria.
I have telephoned talktalk mobile and have learned very quickly, there are a company you can barter with, unlike T-Mobile. Talktalk said they would give me a credit for the unlocking fee, and look into reduce there current monthly plan I am into, T-Mobile just don't seem interested anymoreTrinidad - I have a number of needs. I finally managed to get T-Mobile to start the ball rolling with unlocking. Told it will cost £20.47 and will take exactly 20 days (10th February 2014), i cant wait to leaveTrinidad - I have a number of needs. Don't shoot me down if i get something wrong!!0

in case you have not read my contributions above I will summerize:
1) 13th January 2014 Provide T-Mobile with 30 day notice. I am awarded my pac code.
2) 18th January 2014 I receive a message on "my bill" for £43.49, wait over ten minutes for the company to answer my telephone call. I explain to T-Mobile why is there a message displayed showing £43.49 to pay on 2nd Feb (usual bills are around £16.00) told a Early Termination fee is applied which is ££26.63
Told the ETF is correct, even though the contract ends on 13th February (30 days time). Eventually T-mobile inform me the charge is now incorrect, but the customer advisor can not make changes as the bill has not been generated, only the amount (no idea what that means) advised a team leader would be emailed to make the changes, and when enquired, told I should get my onbill on monday (although I always receive it on 18th of each month online)
Why does this company behave like this???? I still have not used the PAC code as yet. without this thread, I would never of challenged this charge
I am in the same boat as you..should use my pac code before 19/2 and my january bill was normal at the £16..today I checked my account on line and another January bill was generated for £39..reading through it, found £23 for ETC eventhough I still did not use the pac code..I phoned them and they said it will take 5 working days to remove the new bill..not sure about that0 -
and by the way..I have already cancelled the DD with my bank so if they want any money from me they will have to chase me and justify every penny0

ok, although my contract ends on 13th Feb, i have been told to expect a bill 14 days after this date. I am going to make double sure i stay within my allowance, so all this company needs to change me is the unlocking fee of my current handset £20.47, which includes VAT, but somehow i think there will be yet another surprise on this bill as wellTrinidad - I have a number of needs. I've just ported from T-Mobile to Three. I have not been charged an ETF since I transferred via a PAYG step. This seems the easiest way to me. The method was:
1. The minimum term of my contract was set to expire on 1st December 2013. I called up on 1st November and gave my 30 days notice, and informed them I wanted to move to PAYG. They arranged all this. No charges.
2. On 1st December, my billing account is closed and a new PAYG billing account opened. My SIM is automatically transferred to the new account. No problems at all. There are no charges incurred, except for a mandatory £10 initial top-up of the PAYG account which is added to my final bill.
3. That £10 top up lasts me for the month.
4. In January I phone up and get my PAC code. Not need to give 30 days notice since I no longer have a contract. No charges. The PAC arrives via SMS in a couple of hours, and a few days later also by post.
5. I order a new Three SIM. It arrives next day with a temporary number. I give them my PAC code, and my number is ported next working day.
That appears to be the most painless way to do it.0
