Hey pavlovs that is brilliant, thanks for sharing, I am well impressed  at your bargain buys as well. The malteser drinks are shouting out to me, I may have to call into HB's on my way to work tomorrow :)

Very organised Pavlov! I love those Maltesas drinks. And the pasta stuff is good too. I've bought some pineapple. To keep it from discolouring does it need to be in some syrup (or juice?) say from a tin of peaches/pears for instance.

I bought some scotch eggs for hubbys packed lunch. When I said how is he finding it he casually added that he's still buying lunch. So I need to double the amount of sarnies I make him. That's why I didn't include any savings from him, I knew he may still be spending.

I know this sounds naff but I may have to put a list up in the kitchen somewhere to remind me what to include in a packed lunch. So sarnie (or salad or pasta) is obvious but it's the other bits like a drink, a snack, some fruit. Until I get fully into this habit.

    Ideas:
    1. Cornish pastie. I noticed today that Lidl sell 3 cornish pasties (in the chilled section) for about £1.45. That you can eat hot or cold. So one of those in a packed lunch might be quite nice. Not tried them.
    2. Lidl's version of Pot Noodle. Bought a couple of these today to try. About 50p I think.

What food flask did you buy Kittle? I've got a thermos one thats dishwasher safe and I'm thinking of getting another one for things like tea. :)

Hi MAM I got it from Tesco, I think they call it a food jar by Thermos and cost me £7.50. This is like it from Amazonia but theirs is £5 more expensive and doesn't have thermocafe just Thermos, so a fiver for the name :(

Brown bread, ham and some posh cheese with cranberries in, sarnie for me and youngest is having ham and mayo (as he does every day).

All in the fridge, ready to go. Now if only I could get the boys to have a bath and get their school bags ready as easily ......
This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
    Fingers crossed x

do you mean a fresh whole pineapple that you're going to cut up?

I'm not sure if it will brown as quickly as say an apple. Lemon or orange juice will stop most fruits browning, or do what I do which is to use some juice/syrup from tinned fruit. I only use a little bit and give it a good stir to make sure the fruit is coated.

Betty Crumble - fab idea to get everything ready and organised into 'grab packs' :T are you sick of the mince pies yet?!
