That's awful satchmo1! I can't believe anyone would steal a boiler. Maybe you could pin a note to the next one directing them to my address and telling them to help themselves to my boiler? That would solve the problem of me having to get it fixed or replaced in the winter?
Right, so it Sunday morning and I have got to get my backside back into gear! Boys are at their dads today so I have until 5:30 to get as much done as possible. Tonight is written off as I have been given tickets to take the boys to an Extreme Stunt show! Monster trucks and things so they'll love that. They've had a lucky weekend as Friday night we had tickets from my friend to go to the circus. We had to buy a programme which was £4 but was worth the money for a pre-back to school treat.
It's looking like its going to be a lovely day so I'm going to make a real concerted effort to get as much fence painting done as I can.
Other jobs for this week include working through the boys school clothes/new and transferred from DS1 to DS2 and getting them all in the right wardrobes and labelled. They are back to school on Wednesday so not too much time there.
I have really really been slacking on the eBay frontI know when I put stuff on I can sell it and make some money so I need to get myself actually doing it.
Also need to sit down and pay the monthly bills too and work out what money I don't have to survive on this month

So here I am, Tuesday evening already! I've managed to get all the boys school bags packed, everything are tagged and ironed (well only DS1's shirts ironed if I'm honest, all the rest I could get away with!) They were happy to have an early night tonight ready for back to school tomorrow. Part of me is glad the holidays are over but part of me is sad as its gone so quickly, all eight and a half weeks of it
DS1 had his first day back at ballet tonight. I keep thinking I should probably stop things like this until I have more money but he is doing really well with it and his ballet teacher has said she wants him to audition for the Royal Ballet Associates this year. Also, he has said that he wants to go into performing arts so I feel I would be depriving him big time if I didn't allow him to keep it up
I managed to get a few more fence panels painted too. I now have three panels to do down one side of my house on the inside of the garden. Then the 24 panels on the outside edge as we have a corner plot. There's 4 left to do along the back of the house. And about 3 plus trellis along the other side. Oh and the summerhouse! I've glossed the windows already so just the external walls! I am determined to get it finished by the winter if it kills me!
Really not being organised on the debt paying/money side of things and seriously need go get my backside into gear again!
I sense a list of things to do coming soon to focus properly! Worked last time!. I've been offered some work Friday night but have no dates from ex as to when he can have the boys so will have to get a childminder
It will be worth it though as I will make more than I have to pay out!

Well done for getting your boys organised. Maybe you'll be able to sort the garden now they're back at school?
Our car passed it's MOT thankfully (I am very surprised!) so that's a worry off my mind, and it means we can at until my other half gets his Xmas bonus in January to get a new car.
My DD starts nursery on Monday, and I haven't sorted anything yet! Time to get sorted I think! But I can't complain as I'll be picking up an extra shift at work when she's there :-)
For now I've got an English exam for my NVQ level 3 today... annoying as I went to uni and my English is fine, but I passed my GCSE's over 5 years ago so have to retake!
Oh well! Hooe your boys enjoy their first day back xxDebt FREE thanks to YNAB0 -
Did I read that right? Do you need to just knot a piece of string/ fishing line ,dressing gown belt, heck even a pair of old tights, to your bathroom light cord. Only problem is you may end up with a temp fix for five years lol, like the spoon I have to wedge something up in the kitchen. But better than a broken leg, or a chipped bath, or both:eek:.
You do an amazing amount each day and have kept it up so long. Are you overpaying your mortgage? What was the reason behind it?
How come the ctc over payment is listed separate? Sorry I vaguely remember something about it, but was ages ago.0 -
Glad the car passed its MOT lhead123. Good luck with the exam, I know you've done it all beforehand I'm sure you will be fine but still nervous I bet! Well first thing they had a kit check and DS1 was told that the tracks unit bottoms for playtime should be green  I have double checked the uniform list and it just says dark, the green ones are for actual sports lessons which he has. I will bring it up in the meeting next week!
Unfortunately I'm not going to have any extra time now the boys are back at school as I'm still working full time. I drop them off on the way to work and pick them up on the way home!
Yes bess1234, the shower will end up having the old cord tied back on probably with a bit of nail glue over the knot just to make sure it holds
I'm not overpaying my mortgage. It's a repayment mortgage with an interest rate of 0.34% above base rate so the interest is tiny and the balance is coming down quickly. It has 17 years well 16 and a bit left on it. I thought about extending the term but the repayments wouldn't reduce that much and I'd just end up paying a higher interest rate so best to bite the bullet!
The CTC overpayment was because, despite my including it on all the forms, they forgot to include my company car in their calculations resulting in an overpayment. Apparently that's my fault because I was supposed to have checked their calculations and let them know about any errors  I'm still trying to argue with them over it but am slowly living the will to live

Oh that was it, knew there was a reason , sorry to hear that the ctc is still going on. They did that to me years ago, before I learnt to fight back, and I repaid it all meekly despite knowing I had told them of the changes. Now I try and avoid it altogether, but it was good when I was on low wage with high childcare.
Yes your mortgage is coming down quickly. That must be nice to see.
Have a night off. Back to school needs easing into gently.0 -
Well I had given myself a list of things to do today and have failed pretty miserably to be honest.
The list and achievements as follows:
Do expenses for work and submit Done - apart from submitting as computer won't let me in to do it so need to wait for IT Dept to sort it out!
Check on a couple of sales
Arrange to meet an ex colleague to look at sharing meetings
Print target list
Place a literature order
Pay credit card bills and other bills Done
Reconcile bank account Done
Work out debts and overpayments Done but need to update/post on here!:o
Arrange school pickup and drop off for Monday as I have an early start and late finish
Buy bread Done and I didn't buy anything else
Book a Drs appointment for me
Check details of possible work for Friday night and book childminder Done
Get a list of parents and their email address from DS1's class (I'm class rep for the year!) Requested and awaiting
Send all parents a welcome email and reminder of upcoming meetings and events
10 minutes on the cross trainer
Put 3 items on ebay
Feeling quite guilty, so all of the above will transfer tomorrow. You did do the snowball calculater on the other debts. Are you knocking down the highest apr first? Or tackling them all together. They are coming down in a nice orderly fashion.
You work so hard every day and its all working, but are you getting any highs. Sniff your nail glue  whoops I'm putting this v badly. Try again
You seem to have a well thought through plan that you are trudging through for a long time. have you considered if its worth focussing on one debt and seeing it topple , as an alternative to sniffing nail glue! It should give a more natural high. Apologies if you are already. The minimum payments are all different so can't tell where the overpayments are going. Did you try for 0% balance transfers .0
