If the government is encouraging the masses to live as single mum and pop one out whenever there is need for more money why wouldnt anybody do it ? More and more mums are "seperating" to rake it in and become financially independent, its the biggest scam ever.0 -

Not everyone pays into the pot, and more often than not these are the ones who seem to think they are entitled to it!!
My personal view is you dont pay in you dont get anything out! There's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. It's the place where a part of you will forever be a part of me.
Sealed Pot Challenge #3080 -
Because they are human beings who may have been through all sorts of horrors in their own country, and common courtesy costs nothing?
Just a thought.
And many may well be economic migrants pure and simple.
The fact still remains all except those who fly in pass through many national borders before they get here so why don't they claim asylum in the first free country they enter?, as is International Law......If you had seen horrors or been tortured in your own country why would you travel half way around the world in the back of or under lorries just to get here? apart from benefits and work oppotunities whats the draw to the UK ?
Do you know why the majority of them destroy their passports? Its so that UKBA can't send them straight back to their country of origin, 98% of which are classed by the UN as "safe".Without a passport they can't be deported.

UK must be the only country where working age people are supported by the state forever. Some havent worked their entire life and have more than 5 kids. Stop benefits after a couple of years and they will magically get a job.0 -

This was covered in a BBC documentary where they interviewed asylum seekers in Calais and the majority seemed to know the ins and outs of the benefit system in the UK ! They claimed that if they get into UK the govt will provide them with a house and allowance to live on whereas in France they have to live in tents.0 -

As leveller2911 says, and if you go to Calais you can easily see these guys, sitting around on waste ground waiting for their nightly attempt to get on board any lorry. The point is, if international law says that they should ask for asylum in the first safe country, from Iran and Afghanistan (commonly) they have passed through several safe countries and France is certainly a safe country. If they are in so much danger back home then why is it you only see young guys in Calais? Why aren't the families, the old, the very young, the females, also in danger?
My DH's paternal grandfather arrived here in flight from Tsarist Russia in 1895, but he came with his wife and small daughter. The first thing they did was to learn English and they worked all their lives, using the useful skills they'd brought with them. Modern 'asylum seekers' can be found in car washes, delivering leaflets for pizzas and takeaways, or working in burger bars.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

So what? I believe everyone deserves common courtesy as a matter of course.0 -

Nationality makes no difference whatsoever.......
Those who work should reap the rewards those who have never worked should be allowed to sink unless genuinely disabled.Cut out all their benefits and it would be surprising how quickly they found work.
We should only allow people to claim benefits for the same number of years as they have worked in the UK. That way, we could pay more to the people who lose their jobs and are looking for more work.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.
