And these are the posts that results in so many posters feeling so aggraved with benefit claimants... All those regular posts starting with.... 'I've fallen pregnant by accident...' and ends with 'what money can I get from the state...'
But of course, it just doesn't happen! People on benefits are as responsible with it comes to family planning as those working and not entitled to any benefits....0 -

Genuine question - how do you manage to meet an asylum seeker, have a bit of nookie and fall for him to the extent that you would live with them? I'm intrigued, but as I have never even met an asylum seeker, have no idea how these things work - it's not like you'd find them on match.com, or in your local pub?
Well he clearly didn't get off the lorry and claim asylum straight away. My guess living illegally, they met, he got found out, he claimed asylum.
I'd have to question the relationship OP, how long have you known him? Does he really want this kid/relationship or just someone to support him, somewhere to live.0 -
Marriage does not give an asylum seeker the right to stay here.
But having a baby with someone who can stay in the UK, does.
It's a warning to all married men looking for a bit on the side with a girl who says she is on the pill; and all women who are told "I love you, lets have a baby but I don't want to marry you".RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Why don't you marry him? I'm assuming as you are on benefits then you can marry him and sponsor him to stay in the UK. Marriage doesn't have to cost much just a visit to the registry office should be enough.
The rules changed on 9 July and now she will have to work to earn £18,600 pa to sponsor him.RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

Sorry for the questions.
Whats his nationality?
How long has he been in detention?
Does he have friends who are here working or are they also in detention also?
What's his religion?
How long have you known him ?
Has he told you about his family back home?
Have you met his friends?
Has he asked you to marry him?
If you don't have any answers to my questions, then it's 99% he looking at you for a place to stay, whether your his girlfriend or not!
He will be already informed as to how the benefits system works. He won't be that stupid, thats why he's here in the first place for a better life.Once he has gets what he wants, he be back home in no time with a british passport, all happy and smiley, looking to marry a woman from his own country.
Use your head and not your heart, have the baby, and keep what is yours and dont let anyone take that from you.
I know lots of girls in the uk that fall for theses men, and to be honest with you they lie and cheat to get what they want. There only here for working and nothing else.
If i sound harsh, its better to be one step ahead, rather than lose your life to theses's types of men.0 -

I think that's right. It's true for Ireland as well. But in the cases I've read about, couples had been together for some while.0
