We had invited my brother for tea as my parents are always away for new year so i bulked the chilli out. I got a jar (:o) from a!di (under 50p,) and added a tub of passata, a beef stock cube and a little chilli powder and it bulked out nicely and the mince was so saucy! Brother then decided he was too rough to eat, so we had it with rice and left over tortilla chips, and the hubby had the rest of it burrito style for his lunch. There would of been some for the freezer but everyone ate seconds. It was a bit milder than normal and the kids lapped it up.
Slow cooker works well too, although miss the keep warm function the last one had.
Hubby did get paid so all well in the bank and stayed in the overdraft. Cheques still not cleared so will prob have to wait till next week before I can transfer it across. Am trying to be patient..................................
Car insurance sorted, miles cheaper than my renewal quote!
Still need to do next weeks meal plan before i go shopping tomorrow night.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Chilli sounded great - you'll have to be quick to box up and freeze to make it stretch :rotfl: Have the same problem with DS!
Great news on payday and car insurance too. Doesn't pay to be loyal when buying anything it seems.
What's the cheque clearance timings - 5 days? I'd struggle to be patient with that amount waiting to be paid off a debt too!Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019

I thought the cheques would clear quickly as the name on the cheque it's from the same bank. Obviously not so still waiting. Will prob hang on now till the day the direct debit goes out.
I have a question for you all, how do you know if you could do the promotion you have been offered???
I have got the prospect of being the homes manager, but not sure if I could do it and not fall flat on my face.
The extra money would be nice though :rotfl:December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

I'd suggest having a thorough look at the job description (if there is one), highlighting the areas that are going to be new to you and then finding out what support/learning will be provided so you can be successful at it.
No-one will want you to fail, that's the first thing. If you think you might not enjoy it or there will be too much pressure or elements that you know you will find difficult but you want to give it a go, perhaps you can ask for a 3-6 month trial with the proviso you can go back to your old role? The company could then backfill your old role with a temporary contract to cover that possibility.

Happy new year Rags:beer:
Exciting news on the job front :j is it a care home you would be managing? Just remember all managers in care are to be registered with CQC and are then accountable for all the goings on. No to put the dampener on things but something to ponder.
Your debt repayments are fantastic :T
