  • The loan is 10.5% and think it runs out sometime next year i think. Im swaying towards paying chunks off on the cc and having some of it 0%. A one off fee will surely be less than a months interest........................................

But thats a few months off yet.

I have also been a little naughty and ordered myself a new jacket, jumper and a dress for a wedding in May. I needed a new jacket as mine is white (bad colour in itself lol) and not appropraite when i go to funerals, so ordered a black one. No excuse for the jumper other than all my clothes are falling apart or developing holes and havent really bought any for months!

The hubby has bought me some yummy snow boots off ebay. They were more than i would have paid but he has said they are my xmas pressie and need them really when watching ds1 play rugby. I get cold very quickly no matter how many layers, and feet are the worst!! Suprised myself when i was trying to argue with him not to buy them, used to be the other way round! :rotfl:

Had 10 mins of snow here, everyone panicked but it didnt settle. It can do one now though!!!

Baking still going strong, found a yummy gingerbread man recipe thats just right! and the kids loving the empire biscuits too. Also doing chocolate covered strawberries for their boxes to get more fruit into them. Used dark chocolate so the healthy eating brigade cant say too much. I can spout the health benefits if they did ;)
Im not having to put crisps in the boxes now which is good too.

    Not much else to report...........:cool::cool:

  • Bank checked, it's as well as it could be. Haven't transferred the tyre money yet, going to see how we get on for the rest of the month and transfer it if needed. Less likely to disappear that way.

Weather is mad up here, everything is white, but it's with hail stone not snow! Has been at it all night. Very icy wind with it too, chills right to the bone.

Makes me wanna curl up under my quilt on the sofa and not move. But it's off to work I go.............

What a pain about the tyres, but like Nat says, great you already had the money to get them sorted.

With your loan, was it front loaded with interest? Would be worth looking out your paperwork as if so and it ends next year, might not be much more interest left to pay vs moving some with a fee to a 0% card. Can you get a latest statement or at least a breakdown of interest left and capital left.

Worth looking into in detail. Certainly I thought about moving the car debt onto a loan vs. 0% CC. It's a bit of a guessing game - until I did the nitty-gritty with the numbers and I turned out to be wrong thinking loan! So I am moving mine to 0% CC next month!

I'm still laughing from FSH by the way :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Stay safe with the very bad weather too. TV pics and news looks horrendous.
    Back on the DFW Wagon:

    CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
    CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
    Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/18
  • Thanks Ali, house still standing but my fencing looks like it gave up the fight! Loads of trucks over turned on the motorway so please everyone keep your fingers crossed for my hubby out in his truck today.

The loan has interest added every month and actually doesn't finish till 2016! But it will be gone next year which ever way I pay it off.

I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!
  • Can't believe we are coming to the end of the month already!

I have taken the promotion at work, but doing a 4 week trial first to see if I'm up to it. I have requested the trial so I can keep my current role if it's not for me. Not sure what increase in wage I will get after the trail though if I keep the new role.

Have paid off my holiday this week, then made the mistake of looking at reviews of the park. No one has had a good word to say about it and 9 out of 10 people say not to go there. Slightly worried now........rang them up to see what type of chalet we will be in and they said a 1 bed roomed chalet so me and the hubby will be on a sofa bed all week. :(:( I know it's just a place to rest your head, and hopefully there will be plenty to see and do off site.........wishing I had stayed with our caravan type holidays now. Oh well, you live and learn.

Am off work today, so nipped to the bank to sort the kids accounts out. They now have just one account but it's a young savers account so it's no longer on my online banking.

Not sure where I am in relation to my banking, will keep checking it next week and transfer tyre money if needed. I'm really hoping we have reigned in the spending so I don't need to transfer and keep the money in the debt fund.

Need to do my meal plan for next week, might look up some new ideas for yummy meals.

  • Well i have cleaned the house from top to bottom this morning. Second load of washing on too. Feel much better now its all clean. So could not be bothered to do it yesterday.

Have spoken to the hubby about this holiday, and given all the negative stuff about the cleanliness etc, we have decided to cancel it. People have reported mould growing in the windows and dust everywhere, I cant chance things like that with the hubby and ds1 having asthma. Gonna say the hubby is having an op so i may have a chance of getting my money back. Might ring the bank up and cancel the cheque as well.
So instead we are going to go on a bit of a road trip to the south of the country. There are loads of attractions south of us the kids would love to do but its just a bit far for a day, so gonna plan our trip and use travel inn type places and b&b's. Im quite excited about it! Never done the whole live out of your suitcase thing........

Not much else to report, still need to do next weeks meal plan and shopping list. Might have a ponder over it with a cuppa.

  • Welcome back smarties!

Woke up this morning with a bad head and a sore throat. Feels like my neck is so swollen I have to keep checking it looks normal in size. Lol!
The hubby has been good and did the weekly shopping. Came in budget if not a bit less. He has also been making me lots of warm drinks to keep me going. I did manage to do some of my nvq work and then fell asleep on the sofa.

Felt a little better after so made some choc covered strawberries and crispie cakes and mini ring donuts for lunch boxes and did a roast dinner for tea. Comfort food at its best.

Start my new role at work tomorrow, wish me luck.
