Rags signing in for duty SIR * salutes.
Hadn't realised I hadn't posted in soooo long. Time flies now a days.
Well where to start................
On the job front it is a care home, so yes will be the all mighty in charge of EVERYTHING!!! That is the daunting part. And I will have to go through an interview with the CQC Mary Hinge, and rumour has it it's about 4 hours long, but I'm not sure if people aren't just pulling my leg. My current manager will be the regional manager for the company so she will be there to help. But will see, need to finish my nvq 5 first.
Money front I think we are ok. This month was gonna be a hard month with things to pay out. Actually within range for spends though, which is good.
No coffees have been bought whilst at swimming or rugby, our flasks are great and now the boys have one too ( half price when we bought walking boots, hubbies Xmas pressie) they have hot choc or tea in theirs to keep warm. These are massively handy as taken up more walking on weekends. Gets us out in the fresh air, and we can enjoy our beautiful countryside.
Still checking the bank everyday, but not much to do these days as got all the transfers and debt payments sorted with standing orders and direct debits. This has taken away all the thinking that took up too much of my head space.
So still on the wagon, and it's still rolling.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Hi Rags
Did the cheque go through ok? Was ages ago now!
Sounds like things are rolling along nicely with the bank payments, that's good news.
And the flasks too, worthwhile purchases and getting good use out of them.
Good luck with work, when do you complete your NVQ 5?Back on the DFW Wagon:
CC - £3,300 on 0% til 04/2020
CC - £4,500 on 0% til 02/2019
Loan - £12,063.84 as at 4/1/180 -
Pinch and a punch it's the first of the month!! Can you believe it?!?!?!
The cheque cleared and has gone towards the b4rclaycard. Sort of updated my sig but haven't added up how much I have paid off.
I'm not sure when I will complete my nvq, only started in nov, my manager wants it finished ASAP but with work being so busy I'm not getting to do any, and have no energy to start it when I get home. Must try harder with this!
Had a great day today cleaning the kitchen. Sounds mad but feel so much better now it's all super clean. I even cleaned the oven! Very satisfying!
Question for you, what's the best way to clean oven trays?? Mine are well used and no matter what I try they always look dirty and feel like they have a film of grease on them. Do you know what I mean???
Payday next week so the fun of payments and staying in budget begins...... Which reminds me I need to do the budget!!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Whoop whoop - nearly £10k gone - brilliant news, well done :T:T
I'm in great admiration of you studying as well as working and having a family, that's got to be tough, but no doubt you will get there.
A clean and sparkly kitchen is a lovely feeling - good job jobbed
Shall keep an eye out for any tips on the oven tray cleaning, have the same problem here. Donkeys years old - think they were once non-stick, now they're just oven baked
I've been known to take a brillo pad to my roasting tins - took off the non-stick covering, but at least they were clean
Yes - new month, new budget and a short one at that.Back on the DFW Wagon:

Ive tried bio washing powder and boiling water left to soak with good success and also Baking powder mixed to a paste and left. I don't think you will ever get them "clean2 looking as such but the film should go.

Thanks pipsmum, but I'm allergic to bio washing powder
. Wonder if non bio would work the same????
Have done lots of baking today for the kids boxes. Have done blueberry muffins, choc chip muffins, choc chip hobnobs, empire biscuits and choc strawberries. That should keep them going hopefully!
Still not done febs budget, must get on and do it.
Hope you have all had a good weekend?!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Feb budget done, was looking ok, then the car tax reminder came through and the car decided to want two new tyres. Just to make sure we noticed its request, it decided to flatten one on our way back from swimming!!!!!!!!! Had enough (just) in the car fund for the tax but the tyres have had to come out of the debt fund. But that's life, and proves once again that the system we have works as I would have added to the debt otherwise.
Puts me a month behind my planned date to pay the credit card off but I can live with that. It's still way before the 0% runs out so all good.
But I need help with a dilemma about the loan once the credit card is payed off. Do I heap all the money to it and overpay each month, or do I take up one of the 0% deals the credit card sends me (money transfer included) pay a small fee and have some of it at 0%????????????
I have been over and over in my head about which would be the best route. What would you do??????December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Hi Rags - shame about the tyres... but at least there was money there to cover them!!
With your loan... how much is outstanding on it, at what rate and for how long?start = Wed 19th Nov 2008 £21,225
end = Mon 28th Sept 2015 DEBT FREE!
I love a good plan - it may not work.... but I love a good plan!0
