Glad DS had a lovely Birthday
DEFINATELY more Month than money here too, I guess its because kids are off draining our pockets and also uniform, soon be off to School and we can start saving again!
Christmas wise I have started already and bought a few bits in the sales. Any others I am aiming to buy 1 a week now until Christmas so then I only have Pip and Pea to worry about. Learned last year not to buy too far in advance for a 4 year old as they change their mind rapidly!!!! :eek:Debt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

And I thought I was being organised just thinking about Xmas!! :rotfl:
Not much going on here, had a death in the family so just going through the motions really.
Have a day off today so have cleaned, stripped beds, load of washing on to go on the line, meter readings entered online and currently simmering my beef and onions to turn into stew later. Nothing like keeping busy. Was going to make some soft baps to go with the stew but haven't got any butter. May have to get some later when we are out.
We are on another £9.50 holiday next week so we have been thinking of ways to save money. I think food is one way to save so may get some of them foil trays and make stuff like shepherds pie and casseroles to take with us. Just need to bung them in the oven then. Will do some baking for treats to take, can then have cake and custard, bananas and custard etc for puddings. This time we know which essentials to take like toilet roll, washing up stuff etc so will save money there.
Have got a load of chicken breasts in the fridge so may turn them into chicken nuggets later. Will double dip in flour though so I don't have to use bread crumbs. Can either fry or bake then.
One question though: if meat has been frozen raw, can you cook it then re-freeze it??????December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Hi rags, sorry to hear about the death in the family.
Holiday sound fun, remember to take stuff for picnics, also water bottles for the kids that can be refilled with squash.
Yes meat can be frozen once cooked.0 -

That means I can batch cook meat stuff now and re-freeze
Washing blowing nicely, house smelling yummy of cooking, upstairs smelling of fresh air as opened all the windows! May start the baking today. Will see.December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Sorry about the death in family
Definately, definately picnic! On our Family holiday we had packed lunch evryday, bought all the bits from the nearest PROPER supermarket not the onsite one (google it before you go away and pop the postcode of the store in your phone so you can pop it into satnav once you are there) for about £15-£20 and worked out by doing this alone we saved about £125!!!!:eek::eek::eek: We found that all the places had inside and outside places that you could eat your own food and lots of people were bringing there own so we didnt feel like the cheapo poor family
Have a great time xDebt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

I did bake in the end. I made jam doughnut muffins and choc chip muffins. Will hold off doing twinks biscuits as they are so nice 1. they wont last and 2. because i will eat them all!!!
Stew went down a treat, even ds2 ate it all and mopped up the left over gravy with some bread. He is getting there slowly with meat, wont yet eat it whole on his plate but getting there cut up in a sauce. He is like me really, i can take or leave meat and tend to go veggie if we eat out as cant eat meat i have to chew alot.
Going to make some mini meatloafs to take with us and chicken nugget bites from the chicken in the fridge, and possibly a shephards pie. I might have enough chicken left to do a chicken casserole to take and just get some rice packets you bung in the microwave. Kids love garlic bread so gonna attempt to go some garlic dough balls to freeze and take. Got the flour and yeast and that in, just need to check if its garlic butter i need or proper garlic. Sure the recipe is on here somewhere.
Picnic stuff is def the way to go for lunches, although on the last one we didnt leave the park so just went back to the caravan between activites for lunch. We are gonna take the kids drinks bottles and use them in the entertainment club at night, prices were stupid last time!!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

Sounds like you have everything planned out and is going to be a super money saving holiday.
Take care PWPS.x.0 -
So, I have done my holiday lists (who doesn't love an excuse for lists?!?!?!) done the meal plan for whilst we are away, done all the shopping needed to take with us. Just need to pack and I'm done!!
Have also booked another £9.50 hol for April next year and it will be a half board basis!! Whoop whoop!!
It's money I shouldn't have spent this month but I couldn't pass up the chance of a £40 holiday!
Least the kids aren't missing out with us being in debt, they love the caravan holidays which is a big bonus. And we feel like a normal family going on holidays!
Can't believe its the first of sept already!!!! Where has this year gone?!?!December 2018: £20,850.24. Now: £18,333.02 Total paid in 2019: £2517.22

I think the half board will end up being a bit dearer Rags and they always add on for power charge, linen and entertainment passes but I looked for same week we are going and it should have been over £700 so Sun price will be nowhere near that!!!
Whereabouts are you going? We booked Booootlins in SkeggyDebt at LBM [strike]£17,544[/strike] £5700:TOver £14,000 PAID OFF :T

It always works out more no matter what as they always add on power and entertainment etc. but still a massive saving.
