What did they say at A&E?
  • Unfortunately, many Maccy D's are actually franchisees although they still answer to the UK Head Office. Perhaps you could write to their head office?

If you do this, I'd recommend sticking to facts, keep emotion out of it, as that gets a better response and explain what you'd like them to do, for example, I'd ask them to communicate the importance of safety signs and ensuring that any contractors make their work site safe before leaving for the day or going on breaks.

I'd also say that perhaps the marking of areas in the restaurant where any hazards may be present should take precedence, even at busy periods.

Perhaps someone else might have better advice, but that's my tuppence worth :)
  • What was the ceiling made of?
    How much fell?

Did they apologize? That goes a very long way with me. Take them to the cleaners if you want they will be covered by insurance. What injuries were caused?

I see this thread going two ways.

    1) lots of abuse to you for being after compensation.
    2) lots of abuse to you for taking your kid to McDonald's.

I would be surprised if you get many sympathetic replies! I'm actually quite excited as its rare we get a thread which has both McDonald's and compensation in it!

Where in my post does it say compensation? Please do not try and judge my parenting skills! On a rare trip too McDonald's this happened too my daughter! Btw, she had fish fingers, carrots and a fruit bag with a fruit shoot - please feel free to phone child line On me! I'm shocked that I simply posted a vent/shocked post and I get this terrible reply from you! Thanks very much for making me a WHOLE lot worser the I already do feel!

She's ok now, doctor said she Was very very lucky to have escaped from cuts and shock.

Not forgetting kids being mentioned in the very first post.

  • Pumpkinx - I think what goater was trying to say was that we get a lot of threads on here similar to yours, but the people who start those threads show themselves to be only after compensation and not really being concerned for their child.

I don't think you fall into that category.

I thought it was pretty obvious my post wasn't aimed at you?

It was aimed at the responses threads like this always generate!
